It’s crazy to think how fast time flies. And yes, despite being a cliche subject, this is exactly what I’ve been thinking lately - after all, me and London have reached the 8 year mark in our relationship just a couple of days ago. . . Thinking back, I still remember a 14 year old girl dreaming of living in England, even though I actually absolutely hated it at first. To be honest, my idea of living in England at that time was going to rock concerts every week, hanging out with long haired dudes and driving into sunset on my motorcycle, but look how it’s changed. . . Anyway... Happy 8 year anniversary, London! I wonder, how many there are still ahead? . . . . И все таки, как же быстро летит время.. Да, да, тема - абсолютное клише. Но все же, нашим с Лондоном отношениям вот уже исполнилось 8 лет буквально пару дней назад. . . А я еще помню, как приехав в Англию в первый раз, я возненавидела это место, и думала, что никогда не вернусь. А через пару лет, 14ти летняя я уже мечтала переехать в Лондон. Правда жизнь мне представлялась несколько иначе - это были в основном мечты о рок концертах раз в неделю, о кожаных штанах и длинноволосых байкерах, с которыми укатила бы на каком нибудь брутальном чопере в закат. А теперь что? Вот как все изменилось. . . Ну чтож.. С нашим восьмилетием тебя, Лондон. Интересно, сколько еще впереди?

Carrie Reichardt’s house, hidden away on a quiet, suburban street in Chiswick, is a remarkable sight. A building covered from top to bottom in colourful mosaic tiles. It tells a thousand stories, each reflecting the various influences and artists who have helped to create the masterpiece, ever since the project first began in the 90s. I used to read a lot when I was a kid. When everyone played games, I often curled up somewhere at home with another super thick book. . . I was the kind of child who’d go to sleep late, hiding under the blanket with my favourite book and a torch, because parents already told me to go to sleep. And I’d wakeup at 5-6 on a bright summer morning and stay in bed reading until I was “woken up” by my mum. . . I procrastinated by reading - i’d hide in the bathroom where I hid a small stash of favourite books behind the washing machine. Or i’d pretend that I’m studying by hiding a book inside the drawer and pushing it back in with my stomach every time someone came in to the room. And no, at the same time I was far from nerdy, but I did fight with one boy in the kindergarten over books, which I myself brought to share with others. . . So I only stopped being a book worm as an adult, because you know how there’s never enough time for it. ‍♀️ But I picked up my old favourite a few days ago - Alexandre Dumas’s Count Monte Christo - and I’m obsessed all over again. I think last time I couldn’t put a book down was when I was a child. Or when I was reading Murakami. It’s just too good of a story and I hope Netflix or HBO would turn it into TV series. . . Ok so.. What’s your recent favourite read? Oh and also, is there a book you’d love to see as a movie or TV series? . . . . Когда я была мелкая, я была, что называется, книжным червём. При этом я была очень далека от ботаника, так как училась не очень, но книги все же любила. . . Все началось с того, как я подралась с каким-то мальчиком в садике из-за книжек, которые сама же принесла туда чтобы делиться. Красивые книжки были, с картинками. Ессесно не допущу чтобы какие-нибудь там мальчики к ним прикасались. . . Потом началось то самое - чтение под одеялом с фонариком, так как родители уже отправили спать. Вот наверное я и посадила свое зрение к классу так второму. А летние длинные дни были вообще блаженством - читать можно было начинать в 5 утра, когда я собственно и просыпалась, естественно для всех других притворяясь что еще сплю, лишь бы хватило времени дочитать еще главу. . Waking up on Monday fully convinced that my alarm went off by mistake. . To be honest I haven’t been preparing stuff to say for you guys lately, as I’ve been busy putting together thoughts in my head just for myself. This past week wasn’t the greatest mentally and productively, but I’m putting my all into this new day and new week despite feeling like I need another Sunday, or better even Saturday. . На самом деле я уже давно не подготавливала длинные, наполненные смыслом текста для вас, так как приходилось прилагать усилия, чтобы сначала свои собственные мысли направить в нужное русло. Что уж там про повести для других говорить. . Так что эта неделя как раз для этого - привести в порядок голову и продуктивность, даже не смотря на то, что хочется еще воскресенья.. а даже лучше субботы. . Ну что, всякие там клише и новая жизнь с понедельника?

I always gaze in amazement when I see this bridge when in London. Built between 1886 & 1894, it took 432 construction workers to build & roughly 40,000 people including motorists, cyclists and pedestrians cross it each day. ‍♂️ Swipe left if you want to see some interesting photos I found on Google of it back in the day.
