We are having our may edition of the elderly feeding outreach on the 25th of this month(see flier for details). Our focus will be on reaching out to needy families. We shall be giving out minimum 10 bags of the 5kg rice and other items to 10 families to supplement the little they have. Most of this women are isolated and dont have anyone to take care of them. One of the goals of sophys foundation is to socially integrate our elders. OLD AGE IS A PRIDE AND NOT LONELINESS AND NOT TO BE ENDURED BUT TO BE ENJOYED. Togeda God can use me and you to bless our senior citizens. Feed back from our Easter outreach at yenagoa town, Bayelsa state. We reached out to elders and widows with bags of food items. I was overwhelmed at the crowd I saw but was excited to be a blessing. Unfortunately the distribution didn't go round bcos the crowd exceeded our budget, we had to plead with them. I had compassion on these old ones alarming for help and rushing at us to get a bag just to feed. All glory to God and thanks to all that made this happen. It can only get better, let's keep doing the good work. This month we shall be reaching out to elderly individual homes to help put food on their tables. As we all know, old age comes with 70% dependency on the public. Let's be the good samaritans that will take care of our senior citizens who can't do much for themselves any longer. This old women live with so much responsibilities left in their care. U could imagine an old woman taking care of her late siblings children with her own inclusive(children, grand and great grand children). Hope u now understand why we must do our best in our own capacity to ensure none of these families go hungry this month. OLD AGE SHOULD BE ENJOYED AND NOT ENDURED.
