Calibration time! I am practicing my Q recalibration exam in upcoming weeks. . It’s been almost three years now since I last got my Q-Grader license. CQI requires graders re calibrate every three years. . Q-grade is different then normal QC cupping. There are five cups per coffee. Graders evaluate the coffee base on its own attributes and back up the scores that is given to each coffee. . Fingers crossed I pass again! #coffeequality #coffeesensory #qgrading #qgrader

Didn’t share a proper feedback on an amazing course “Introduction to Coffee and Sensory” that we created with @purusharthas for #CoffeeBrewersMinsk project. It was perfect for both strangers to the industry who are advanced skilled consumers and professional baristas who did not get a proper background. Full group of 6 people, a crazy lot of cuppings, theoretical basis of all coffee related topics such as Barista skills, Brewing, Green beans, Roasting and a very special attention to Sensory, the one thing in coffee so many people are missing. I wish I could attend a course like that few years ago. Even last year I’d pay a lot for one like that. I’m so glad we launched it and we’ll surely make it again. I enjoy it so much being AST of @specialtycoffeeassociation and love to bring more knowledge on Specialty Coffee for coffee lovers. The first coffee I brought in for @origincoffeeroasters. A fully washed Indonesian coffee from West Sumatra. . People tend to disappreciate Indonesian coffee for its weird herby and unclean profile, which is caused by transitional wet hulled process. . As a professional coffee cupper, we embraced every trait of the coffee and are very subjective with what we taste. . This coffee however is highlighting the best of terroir and process. . You will taste some herby/nutty notes in the cup which is a very solid Indonesian cup profile. .
