Our thoughts can go wild sometimes. They spiral, they run, they spin. Thoughts are not always accurate. They don’t always turn out correct and sometimes they lie to us! . Our thoughts can tell us that we’re unworthy, we’re not enough, we’re too much, that our friends hate us, that everyone will leave, that our lives are not worth living. All of these thoughts are VALID, but that doesn’t mean they are true. . Something I tell my clients to try (and I tell myself too!) is accepting the thought AND challenging it. Pushing away a thought doesn’t work. It comes back! Instead, try to welcome the thought. Sit with it. Tell it that you hear it. Tell it that you disagree. Find evidence that proves the thoughts wrong. It won’t magically make it better, but this practice helps us to build a tolerance and sometimes change them . .... ⚡بخش اعصاب و روان. چند ساعتی از اینکه تو بخش بودیم گذشته بود.کلی پرونده بررسی کرده بودیم و چندتا مصاحبه بالینی انجام دادیم.همین طور با مشاهده دقیق بیماران بستری شده،سعی میکردیم اطلاعات جمع آوری شدمون رو کامل کنیم.یه ذره که خسته شدیم اومدیم اینجا یه گوشه بخش نشستیم.الناز شروع کرد یه سری آزمایش های خون مریضارو چک کنه،منم یه چندلحظه چشمامو بستم و به فکر فرو رفتم.یاد حرف استادمون افتادم که میگفتن: بیماری های روان،علت بایوسایکوسوشال اسپریچوآل کالچرال دارن،ینی زیستی،روانی،اجتماعی،فرهنگی. تو یه اختلال روانی ممکنه سهم همه برابرباشه،تو یه اختلال سهم یه عامل خیلی پررنگتر.... همزمان فکرم رفت سمت یکی ازبیمارای بایپلار بخش،و اتفاقات تو خانوادش،مادری که قطعا خودش بیمار بود و با کارهایی که طی سال ها انجام داده بود این بچه رو به مرور زمان بیمار و بیمار ترکرده بود و تا دختر خوب میشدو باز به همون خانواده بیمار برمی گشت و به هم می ریخت...وقتی کارهای که پدر و مادر اون دختر باهاش انجام میدن رو تو پرونده میخوندم،با خودم گفتم اگه دختر قسمت بیولوژیش هم سالم بود، بدون اختلال از اون خانواده میومد بیرون؟؟؟؟!!!!!!! اینجا چندتا سوال به وجود میاد: آیا ما هدف تشکیل خانواده رو میدونیم؟ آیا ما هدف بچه دار شدن رو میدونیم؟ اصلا آیا ما هدف زندگی کردن رو میدونیم؟ با یه روان بیمار میتونیم به اهدافمون برسیم؟ با یه روان بیمار میتونیم تشکیل خانواده بدیم؟ ینی میپذیریم که با یه روان بیمار،بچه داربشیم و فقط تعداد ادم های بیمار رو افزایش بدیم؟ ⚡یکی از مشکلات اصلی جامعه ما عدم آگاهیست.⚡ #روانشناسی #روانشناسی_بالینی#اختلالات_روانی#درمانگر ##درمانگری #درمانگر_اختلالات_بالینی #درمان_شناختی_رفتاری #psychology #clinicalpsychology #psychological_disorders #psychotherapy #psychotherapist #cognitivebehavioraltherapy

Review: “How to Think Like a Roman Emperor: The Stoic Philosophy of Marcus Aurelius” by Donald Robertson⁣⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ Often times nonfiction books don’t get much traction on #bookstagram , which is unfortunate because I think most think they are too hard or boring to read. In some cases, they are right, but often times you can read a nonfiction book and feel enlightened and truly inspired, this book being a great example of that. I have been interested in stoic philosophy recently, and after I read and reviewed The Meditations by Marcus Aurielius, I wanted to learn more about him and some of the ways that stoic philosophy can be applied in real life. Which lead me to this great book.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ Donald Robertson is a cognitive behavioral therapist and applies stoic philosophy to help his clients deal with the issues they face in life. In this book Robertson outlines how you can use Aurelius’s stoic wisdom as a path to achieving greater fulfillment and emotional resilience. He follows Aurelius’s life from that of a young noble to his reign as emperor of Rome. Reading this book teaches you to build emotional resilience and endure adversity, much like Marcus did.⁣⁣ ⁣⁣⁣ ⁣ I highly recommend this book and hope everyone decides to pick up a copy.
