Nervio Oculomotor / Motor Ocular Común (III): Inerva el esfínter de la pupila (movimiento de la pupila) y la mayoría los músculos encargados de los movimientos oculares: elevador del párpado superior, recto superior, recto medial, recto inferior y oblicuo inferior, Nervio Troclear / Patético (IV): Inerva el músculo oblicuo superior del ojo (movimiento de aducción del glóbulo ocular; rotación interna del ojo ≈ gira el ojo en dirección a la nariz; también deprime/hace descender el ojo). Nervio Trigémino (V): Percibe la información sensitiva de la cara e inerva los músculos de la masticación (masetero y temporal). Nervio Abductor / Abducens / Motor Ocular Externo (VI): inerva el músculo recto lateral del ojo (movimiento de abducción del globo ocular; rotación externa del ojo ≈ gira el ojo en dirección opuesta a la nariz). Nervio Facial (VII): Inerva los músculos dedicados a crear expresiones faciales y las glandulas lagrimales y salivales. También recoge la información de los 2/3 anteriores de la lengua (gusto). Nervio Estatoacústico / Vestibuloclear / Auditivo (VIII): Recoge la información auditiva y cenestésica (equilibrio, gravedad y movimiento). Nervio Glosofaríngeo (IX): Recoge información del tercio posterior de la lengua (gusto) e inerva la glándula parótida (encargada de producir saliva), el músculo estilofaríngeo (movimientos de la laringe; deglución) y el músculo estilogloso (movimiento de la lengua; deglución). During my therapy sessions, I always try and incorporate what the child loves whilst teaching a particular goal. This kiddo wanted to play the fish game... so I used it to teach SEGMENTING of CCVC words. Usually when children first start segmenting CCVC words, they tend not to hear that second consonant in the cluster. I find that by making that second consonant VERY visual, it helps them become more aware that it’s there. I began by asking the child to STRETCH out the word slowly ‘like chewing gum’. I then asked him to tap each fish for the each sound he heard... Every time the child missed that second consonant, I made the fish swim away! After a few attempts ... he was getting it !!! The key is VISUALS (as with every goal)... I can’t stress enough their importance for teaching new skills!
