Happy Sunday! The other night I heard Todd randomly counting in the bathroom . He kept going and going and going (and huffing and puffing between every few numbers). He got up to around 150 and then yelled out that I had over 150 different skincare products on my counter. ‍♀️ Well... yes- I do. The average woman uses around 16 beauty products a day and I’m constantly trying new ones out... so that really isn’t unreasonable. What is a little crazy is that Todd only has 2- shaving cream and deodorant. . I would venture to guess this is pretty normal in most households. Luckily, he is open to getting on a good routine (particularly after this weekend when he fried his skin at the beach) and starting tonight we are going to do that. There’s no reason men can’t benefit from good skincare too... and I think he finally realizes that. We mainly need to work on reversing damage so I’m putting him on a good AM and PM antioxidant, a sunscreen that feels completely weightless (like nothing!) in the morning and a retinoid that is gentle but highly effective at night. I’m excited to see his skin transform!

Melasma + Hyperpigmentation Update. . . I initially shared my melasma flare on 12/27/18. It's 11 weeks later, so I figured it was time for another update. The lighting is a little different, but I think it's clear to see there have been 3 big changes in my skin. . . 1. My "patch" has significantly lightened. . 2. I have less overall redness in my skin. . 3. My skin appears more lifted (especially the nasolabial fold, and I took a NuFace break). . . I've stuck with a fairly consistent routine, with stars being the SkinMedica TNS Essential Serum* and Lytera 2.0*. I introduced a new peptide serum at night by Colorescience (Pep Up Collagen Renewal*) which I'll talk about later in the week. I only exfoliate a few times a week now, same with retinol. I do have a combo product that's gentle, that I really like, I also want to do a review soon on that. . . The biggest difference this past month has been in my SPFs. Preventing add'l hyperpigmentation while I allow the other products to do their job has been critical. I still apply my SPF in the morning, but I have been consistent about using BB and CC Creams w/ added SPF instead of foundations. I reapply with my Colorescience Sunforgettable Brush on SPF throughout the day. Being diligent about layering my SPFs has made the world of difference. . .
