My absolute favorite color shift in our industry revolves around women going grey their own way. It doesn’t mean you have to leave color behind forever. It means that you can use color to enhance, embrace, and have fun with the present moment instead of feeling the pressure to do your roots all the time. I like to play the guessing game before I get my aura photographed. It started the first time when I tried to emit the color of my pants (red & magenta) and it worked! The next time I had been handling malachite & azurite for about a week before, and sure enough it was blue and green. Then the week of my third photo I had done three major color projects so I figured it would have lots of colors, and then it was a rainbow! This time for our work bio portrait session I pulled an animal spirit card that morning and just look at it...we basically match. The power of #colormedicine is real y’all. I recently did a photo shoot with Keilah at @vanillabeanphotography less than two weeks ago now. Photo shoots are not my favorite, but I try to have fun with it. I do them because I want to look how I currently look in print rather than use a photo from 20 years ago and then have people shocked when they meet me. So, minimal makeup (mostly what I would wear for a speaking event) but maximal creativity. . In this shoot, we went through every color of the rainbow and instead of being me, I aimed to be the energy of the color. . This is what I did for the orange-pink part. It was impromptu and felt from being in the moment. I took a scarf from the prop room and just started moving it around me. I embodied FLOW. . If actresses channel a character, I like to think of the colors coming through me. . Color is healing. People say food is medicine, and I would say so is color. And, colorful food is the best medicine in my color-nutrition world!
