Here I am pictured with a few of my favorite things: My tattoo, avocado + dyed fabric, earth pigments/ʻalae clay, vagina art, shells, huge painted earrings. . I was born & raised in Maui, Hawai’i from settler parents. Our family owns Mana Foods in Pā’ia, founded 35 years ago..the same age as me. I believe I’m mostly Eastern European + Scottish. Most likely mixed Romani and tiny bit First Nations from eastern Canada. I’m still figuring out how to identify, and I expect this to keep unfolding. . I’m a Taurus sun ♉️☀️beauty, comfort, & sensuality delight me. I see the function of beauty. I feel the delight of beings when they are witnessed in their beauty. I create beauty. And I’ve been learning to expand my definition of beauty as I witness nature’s cycles of death & regeneration- that teach me how to love myself & other humans in all different ways. . I often have 10 million ideas zooming through me. I’m a big picture person- the study of art & nature help me see connections between things. I feel + see in patterns & color. I experience creating as deep connection to remembering my true self. My art is a road map of healing..the deviant paths of learning to trust myself + the joy of releasing my truth without shame. It is a gift from ancestors, stars, my lineages & speaks to a common story of disconnection, mental health, finding wholeness, pleasure & sexual healing. Making with my hands, finding that sense of flow- that is my sacred place of remembering. . From this Iʻve become so passionate about others having access to art for healing too. I see so many who believe they arenʻt creative because of this patriarchal society that only values logic + thinking. But everyone is innately creative..because we are nature and nature is in constant expression of creating. I believe that each person, (especially those most impacted by oppression) being able to express their unique creative gifts is key to building healthy communities. Update: June 6, 2019 in Halifax ———- Even the motivators can’t always be motivated. This past year I’ve received lots of feedback on my social media. Some constructive, but mostly really really positive things! THANK YOU ALL I am simply doing what I love and providing what I do on a daily basis, just in a different way through a different medium. Trying to help people succeed with their fitness and not be skewed by poor guidance is my #1....and yes, obviously I want to reach more people. Who isn’t trying to grow their business and brand!? . For 15+ months I literally spent 2-3 hours per day for Instagram. From recording stories (my favorite!) to filming and editing and typing up content for wall posts. It doesn’t stop there. . However, recently I’ve fallen into a motivational and creative slump. Combined with the utterly depressing weather this year in Halifax (95% of days being overcast and/or rain) it’s making me feel a bit blah. At first I felt guilty.... but I can’t. This is just part of the process. Motivation is never 100% all of the time. . I’ve arranged my first of several content creating sessions: the next phase of my social media game. There are also other exciting things on the horizon!
