it took me so many years to look in the mirror and realize that I was the problem. sometimes we all need to hit rock bottom before we can build ourselves up and that’s totally okay! like I’ve previously mentioned in earlier posts, I never thought that people looked at me and saw me to be “a pretty face on a big girls body.” for some strange reason, I honestly thought that my weight was perfectly fine in the beginning even when I was outgrowing clothes that I just bought two months before and I felt SO tired all the time. my weight was impacting how i treated others + my own body. I couldn’t explain to anyone what I was feeling every day because I didn’t even know. I was spiraling down further and further and I’m so happy that I finally woke up. i always had the same excuse of “I was always big so it’s just my body type” because of my hypothyroidism. yes my disease makes me gain weight a lot faster but that was NOT an excuse to be lazy and the way I was. stop saying tomorrow and get your shit done. your only hurting yourself in the mean time.

Adalyn was born without a thyroid and takes her synthroid aka her “treat” every morning, the first two years of her life have included lots of blood draws to check her levels, which will have to be checked her whole life but thankfully not as often Lots of people think thyroid issues only present later in life but it effects all ages. Metagus has congenital hyperthyroidism. This usually cannot be prevented, but the mental retardation and other complications usually can be prevented by prompt diagnosis and treatment.
