#throwback One year ago I travelled through #japan and fell in love with #tokyo at first sight. Considering Tokyo is home to over 13 million people, I had mentally prepared myself for the stress and energy of a place like Manhattan or Berlin, but somehow I felt calm. Maybe it was the jet lag, maybe it was the soothing light of Palma I had bathed in the prior week. A fascinating vibe, yet surprisingly comfortable. This was my small glimpse into life on the other side of the planet. So many stories. What drives people to live where they do? Or to leave? Maybe they’re just thinking about what’s for dinner. Eternally grateful for my wonderful friends. I am so privileged to get to experience all of you, and soak is your knowledge and presence. In this short series I asked each of my friends to bring in the artwork they have in their rooms…the images, and items they hang that make them feel comfortable and I rehung them in a constructed studio space. The items in composition with their bodies almost become a part of their identity. I am so curious about the divergence in what we hang in our spaces compared to the comfort we have in each other. The contrast is so beautiful. I am so thankful for each one of you women. So eternally thankful for your brains, and laughter, and time, and comfort, and the infinite lessons you continue to teach me.
