“Oh. Neon Genesis Evangelion.” ✨ Y’all knew this was coming with the NGE release, a big ol’ plug suit round up!   I’ve been cosplaying NGE since I was 16, so its been a hugely influential series on both me as a person and as a cosplayer. Way back when Asuka was my absolute favorite character, I was still a fledgeling cosplayer but I wanted to make her classic plugsuit sooo badly I trudged through learning about foam armor and spandexes for months to get her classic suit done. It was brutal cause she was my first serious cosplay, but hey all those failures made me less afraid of stretch fabrics haha! And then 3.0 Asuka happened not long after....then 6 more...then eventually Kaworu! If I’m keeping it real with you chief, I have complicated feelings to say the least about the source material, but all the characters mean a lot to me and the past 5 years of NGE cosplay have been good ones! EVA foam is a great material for armor and props, but you might also want to try Worbla if you never heard about it! It comes in thin sheets, which can be heated up and become then sticky and stretchy while the material is still warm. Since you need only a heat gun and scissors to work with it, it’s super beginner friendly! I made plenty full armor sets out it and it was super fun! I've been a little bit quiet with costume progress lately, sorry for that! The fairytale painting style was actually totally unintentional, the IOS was all whacky for this shot but I could tell the composition was golden, so I sunk like 10 hours into saving it and Ta-da! ✨ but I love the aesthetic it brings!
