Here is a natural-edge Crazy Lace Agate cut by Leigh Becker (#eidosstones). Stones like this seem to prefer displaying their intricacies without the distraction of a heavily-decorated silver setting. Leigh kept the natural shape of the stone so you can see how it grew and he gave it a gentle curve to follow the contour of your neck. It has a pretty little drusy-lined fairy cave in it, nice fortifications, and areas filled with various shades of "plain" grey, burgundy, and white Agate. Sadly I don't have many photos of my folks as I explained in last year's Mother's Day post so instead here is piece featuring a gift from my Mother Earth: the Alton Barnes Necklace (sold) with a Crazy Lace Agate cut by Leigh Becker (#eidosstones). The sinuous lines surrounding a window into a magical landscape call to mind the Quetzalcoatl or serpent crop circle which appeared at Alton Barnes in 1999, reportedly on the same night that a celebration in honor of Quetzalcoatl was held at Teotihuacan. (That design is overlaid on the back of the setting.) In the short essay about this necklace I mentioned astronomer Gerald Hawkins' discovery of a new theorem in geometry through his study of crop circles, truly astonishing since everyone thought Euclid had exhausted geometry.
