Yesterday I gave my two weeks notice at my full time job, where I have been for almost 5 years. Boom. Just like that, I have two weeks left here. It was a culmination of a number of things I won’t get into just yet, but it. was. time. . I’m not taking Blush and Faire completely full time yet (although I do almost full time hours anyways ) but I have set myself up with a plan that will allow me to go all in by the spring. I’m speaking this intention to you all because I think putting our goals and intentions out into the universe (and working really fucking hard at them) is key in achieving them. Also because I love ya and the support I get here is always astounding ✨ . When I started my job it was temporary, and I had been underemployed for about 8 months since leaving my previous job that I hated and made me so unhappy. Temporary turned into a full time offer, which turned into an advancement a year later, which then turned into a plan for me to stay and do X to get to X by year X. ‘Security’ was my goal, but I was still really unhappy. That’s actually what brought me to lettering and calligraphy in February 2017. . I always knew someday I wanted to be my own boss (For so many reasons, it would take days to list). When I was in university studying business I wanted to be an entrepreneur. I never really knew what that would look like and I sure as hell didn’t think it would involve me as a creative. . So for the next while you’ll find me pouring myself into every book you see here (I just started Little Black Book by @oteghauwagba and it’s already ), listening to every @goaldiggerpodcast and doing my damndest to make my dreams reality. . . . . #thebeautyofdiscomfort #howtogetshitdone #littleblackbook #femaleentrepreneurship #itsnevertoolatetostart #creativeenterprise #moderncalligrapher #dosomethingscary

A website footer is often overlooked. When I design my clients websites, I like to use the footer to make one final lasting impression for the users looking at their site. Squarespace also make it easy to customize your footer and with a little css you can make it even more custom for your brand. In this footer I added the vertical lines, adding padding on the sides and made the logo icon’s max width 50% on mobile so that it wasn’t giant when people look at in on their phones.

I’ve been giving myself a break these past few weeks. We’ve had a lot going on between unexpected home repairs and Thanksgiving. It would have been easy to hide myself away in my studio to work - but it would have been forced. So, I’m not producing as many new pieces right now - and I’m telling myself that is okay. . . This Tyrone Turquoise and Citrine pendant is finally listed on Etsy after living in a limbo state on my bench for weeks. The reverse has a leaf cut out (swipe right). There are four of these pendants with faceted gemstone accents and leaf adorned back plates. Each pendant is a completely unique stone, though. This is the only turquoise piece in this little series. The others will hopefully be listed later today.

It’s been quiet over here this week. I’ve been filling orders for made to order rings and getting caught up on book keeping as the end of the year approaches. I have so many half started projects on my bench right now - I can’t wait to get into the studio next week. . I finished up this Australian Variscite cuff last week, but never got around to posting it. Such an earthy stone.

My last Labradorite. There is an assortment of new stones on my bench, ready for tomorrow - but labradorite was my first love.
