Spent yesterday painting on a hill, looking out over the Vltava river and Old Town. I don’t usually paint buildings (and especially not whole cities!), but I wanted to immortalize this view. It’s pretty loose, but the beautiful colors of Prague are there!

(I had the caption nicely organized in points but ig hates me I’m sorry for the block of text friends D:) I’m back with a very colorful piece featuring a girl wearing a traditional Czech folk costume :) I used the Arteza Everblend alcohol markers and Inkonic fineliners to create this drawing, that they kindly sent me. I especially wanted to try their alcohol markers to see how they compare to Copics etc., and whether I could recommend these as a more affordable version of them! So, here’s a little review: (This post is not sponsored, nor was I told to do this review, but I did get these for free) — +they are super smooth to use and blend really well. The bullet nib is easy to work with, I didn’t miss the brush nib at all +the differentiation between the bullet and chisel nib is very much appreciated (Copics have a grey strip that I for some reason NEVER see and always open the wrong end) -it’s kind of hard to put them back in the case they come in & the velcro likes to stick to the band that holds the markers -you can only buy them in the set of 60/120 (which can get quite expensive for a beginner artist) or a pack of four in the same colour — Let me stop for a bit at the last point — I understand that since they’re cheaper, it’d probably not be worth it to sell them one by one. But why not make sets of four different colors, or let people choose their own set of four? Or maybe sets of 20 colors would be cool too so that it’s more affordable? I would also love to buy some of the shades from the 120 pack, but I don’t want to buy 4 of the same color! :’D let me know what do you think about this, loves!! Other than that, I would recommend these, and I will be definitely using them in my future drawings. I needed to cover up a sketchbook page that didn’t turn out too great, so I remembered that I used to do these “blackboard” illustrations (I did like...two a year ago ) and decided to give it a try again! Finally, here’s the first leaf painting of my stay here in Prague! Riding across the Czech Republic, it was comforting to find sweeping canola fields like those I pass back home. I’m grateful for this time to regroup. Here, art is my only obligation, and I’m feeling spoiled! I’m learning the important lesson that creative energy can be exhausted, and you can’t keep pouring out of an empty cup. If you need me, I’ll be here, refilling my cup with hot tea, drawing lessons, and beautiful Czech scenery!
