Today marks the last competition of the season. Now, recital is headed quickly my way. To say I’m staying calm would be a lie. No matter how prepared I try to be, recital is THE biggest event of my year and if you see me in the next two weeks and I’m not myself, I’m sorry. . As my 2nd competition season ends, I can’t help but feel a little relieved that we get to try it all again next year. Yes, there were soooo many successes this year, but I can’t wait to amp it up even further. It’s hard not to feel the pressure when you’re surrounded by studios that bring 135 extremely talented dancers, two trailers, and costumes that cost as much as my rent. . I always have to talk myself out of this icky feeling that I’m not doing enough. Should I have done more? Are my dancers growing enough? What can I change for next year? . I truly need to give myself grace, because my gosh, it’s only year two right? I will always be a person that strives for more, but in this moment as my dancers are on stage accepting their 2nd place award I couldn’t be more honored to have been a part of their success.
