[expressions] as a mother, i find myself in the unknown + unchartered territory every few months. with each child in a new phase, new challenge, growth + development. as beautiful + gratifying this role in my life has been, it’s also been my greatest [welcomed] challenge. we’re not alone in the waves of this journey, there are easy days + then, there are days where i want to hide under my covers. each. one. of. us. feels. this. way. at. one. point. or. another. it’s okay to be vulnerable, to share our struggles + understand that we’re not alone in raising our little ones to the best of our abilities. just do your best not to dwell in it. we must still show up, with kindness, a positive perspective + with grace. for them, + for ourselves. there’s not one person with the perfect child or perfect journey. there’s just not, if that’s what’s portrayed, that’s a difficult image to maintain. the most human, loving + giving mothers among us are those who pour into ourselves as much as we pour into them. so much of their peace of mind + happiness depends on how the person raising them feels about themselves. they sense every bit. be kind to yourself, be patient with them. #wordsbyAscia tips on how to show up for them + yourself: discipline. as difficult as it may be, kids need structure, rules, + consistency. there’ll always be things they don’t want to do, but if you compromise once, they’ll always push the boundaries to exhaustion. actions. our actions speak louder than words. we can teach them with words which will only stick for so long, but our daily actions is what they’ll imitate. you. carve out me-time whenever + however you can. once a week, once a month, however you can make it happen, do it. when you step away for a little while to get your nails done, grab coffee with a friend, whatever it may be, it’s refreshing. especially if you’re a work-at-home mama! #allahumabarik #mashAllah ♥️
