DENMAN BRUSH vs BABYLISS BRUSH So I decided to do a comparison on both these brushes as they are part of my Deep Conditioning routine. I've had my Denman Brush for a couple of years but it was just few weeks ago that the Babyliss Tangle - Ease brush caught my eye due to it's appealing and unusual look. Which one do I prefer? It's difficult to choose a clear winner as both have pros and cons for me. Here's what I like and dislike about both these brushes: The Denman Brush - Pros 1. Gives great definition 2. Handle makes for easy brushing/detangling 3. Comes in small, medium and large which is great for different hair types 4. The rubber shaped pad can be great for smoothing the hair The Denman Brush - Cons 1. Product residue can be left under rubber pad, even when rinsing after each use, which means a thorough clean is sometimes needed by removing the pad removing pad/bristles which can be time consuming and sometimes proves tricky, especially when the bristles fall out. 2. My scalp sometimes becomes red and a little tender due to the hard bristles as I work the brush through from my roots. 3. If my hair is very tangled, the brush can feel a little aggressive when detangling my hair so I tend to use a wide tooth comb first before switching to the brush. 4. If the brush pulls a little too hard and there's resistance, the pad can start to slide out of the brush socket which will need pushing back in again and again. The Babyliss Brush - Pros 1. It's quirky look 2. Easily glides through hair 3. Easy to clean 4. Gentle on scalp 5. Gives great definition The Babyliss Brush - Cons 1. There is only one con I have come across so far with this brush which could be a game changer for so many, and that's the shape of it. For me it's sometimes awkward to hold and if my hands are wet, I drop it a lot unless I'm holding it with both hands. If you look closely at the video, you will see it almost slip out of my hand. I am reclaiming my time on wash day! No longer will I stand for hours and hours in the shower, cold and naked, as I work through self-inflicted knots and tangles. I say self-inflicted because as the 8-13 inexcusable days pass in between detangling sessions I can feel my hair warning me. Whispering to me that I’m playing a dangerous game. But I ignore it and lie to myself that everything will be okay... Days later, when I finally decide to break out some conditioner and my @brushwiththebest Detangling Brush I realize how foolish I was.. And then I do it all over again two weeks later. ‍♀️ Minimizing my detangling time so that I can have balance in my regimen is my main hair goal for 2019. I have made this goal before, succeeded for a short period of time and then went back to the old way of things mentioned above. This time around I have a solid plan I will be using to achieve my hair goal.
