This weekend I had the opportunity of sharing my tips and tricks with these amazing group of bloggers/influencers. One of the topics where “when to say no”, and we got raw of how many times people say “do not work for free” when they did work for free at the beginning lol! . . My answer was: you know what your value is while you grow. Let’s keep it real, I truly don’t know any influencers just yet that haven’t work before for only an exchange of product. Just make sure that whatever work you’ll take, even if is free, will bring a benefit to you! When I say “do not work free” I mean do not work without getting anything from that job. Knowledge, exposure, experience, money, etc. We all start from scratch, we do make mistakes, we all are still figuring this out. Things change every second! ‍ . . Focus on taking those partnerships that are your truly match! That makes you excited and proud! Do not make the same mistakes I did at the beginning, trying to take everything without planning or thinking. It takes a long time to undo all the body shaming societal programming going on - like magazines telling us cellulite is ugly despite it being something that 90% of women have, or that the only way to be ‘beach ready’ is to lose 10lbs, or celebrities promoting detox teas, as though drinking a diuretic is going to give you the body that has been sculpted by trainers and chefs and beauticians and plastic surgeons I.e completely unattainable and not real. . . But you are worthy of spending the time trying to undo that programming because you deserve to love the body you have exactly the way it is. . . @mentalhealthfoundation carried out a study looking at how body image impacts mental health and the results are heartbreaking but not all that surprising.
