Where in your life have you been blessed by entering into disciplines? Where have you given yourself over in obedience in God, by saying yes to something that has the power to shape and form you in a way that will be life giving to yourself and others? We often forget that when we make choices and movements into disciplining our time, how we spend our money, or choosing wisely what we give our time and attention to, the fruit that grows from those decisions is not just for our own sakes! We can enter into disciplines, be they physical, mental, or spiritual, knowing that what pours from a life centered and focused on being shaped by what God wants us to be shaped by (and not by our fleeting whims or up and down emotions) gives life to others. . If you find you are always running late, can’t you see how you disciplining your time and schedule to arrive somewhere on time would be a gift to your boss, your children, or your church? If you choose to enter into solitude with Jesus by reading a chapter of a gospel today, not only will you be encouraged, but your interactions throughout your day will be colored by the Love you read about in the pages of your Bible. When you agree with God’s heart and say no to scrolling through your phone when your child is right in front of you, not only do you get the joy of being fully present, but your child gets the gift of your delight and attention that they would have missed if your face and been buried behind a screen. . Discipline is not simply for our own agenda. It is how we love and serve others well around us. It’s how they see a clearer picture of the faithfulness, the delight, and the heart of a God who longs to shape all of His children so that the world sees more of His heart. . So today, let us choose what God says will bring greater love of Himself with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength, and let us love our neighbor as we love ourselves! . #drawnear #revelationwellness

What kind of love is this?⁣ ⁣ It was for love of us that He said nothing when people lied about Him, mocked Him, punched and spit in His face. Was He thinking, “she’s worth it”?⁣ ⁣ It was for love of us that He took brutal beating and the ripping of His flesh. With every whip of His back did He think, “for Ashley, for Erin, for Kelsey, for you”, as He thought of the alternative, being separated from us for eternity. She’s worth it.⁣ ⁣ It was for love of us that He carried our cross, was nailed to that tree, and was crushed by our sins, even the ones we committed today. She’s worth it.⁣ ⁣ It was for love of us that He gave up everything that was owed Him, laid down honor, glory, and even unity with His father and still He stayed.
