We’d love your help! We’re occasionally asked why we chose to get Scout from a breeder vs saving a rescue. I’ve honestly never had experience with a rescue and my past two goldens were from breeders. It’s just what I knew. I was unaware of the kind of abuse many dogs were enduring prior to creating this social media account. I would have never in million years believed dogs were being slaughtered for human consumption. Our eyes have been opened and we have been educated on the huge need to help and place these dogs. Scout is not a rescue, but we try and do our part to advocate and spread awareness and recognize the amazing hero’s that dedicate their time, their money and their hearts and souls to these helpless pups. If you’ve been following for awhile you may already know we donate a portion of sales from our Etsy shop to our local hero’s, @goldenbondrescue. With your help we would like to recognize other unsung heroes among us. How can you help? We can't believe there hasn't been much interest in this puppy. ☹ India is 8 weeks old and a purebred labrador retriever. India is available for adoption. I usually only repost courtesy posts in my stories, but after @6lombardis sent me Tanner's story & I saw his face; I wanted to make sure to get this out there to as many as possible. **BALTIMORE** Reposted from @pittiesandpurrs - *LONG POST AHEAD* *PLEASE READ*⁣PLEASE SHARE** ⁣ Here at Pitties and Purrs we here so many sad stories.. meet Tanner, about 7 years ago, I went to BCAS and visited with him. He had a chemical burn down his back. They didn’t want me looking at him, but I insisted. I sat in the yard and played with him for a good while. He was the sweetest dog ever. I decided to take him into the rescue, although it was possible that he needed to be the only pet. He stayed at my mom’s house while she was in the hospital. My son, Josh came from Korea to help with my mom and he took care of Tanner. He called him Willie Tanner. It was hard finding a foster for Tanner, all of us had dogs, but then it happened!! One of our foster’s mom had a friend with no other animals. It was a match made in heaven. These two loved each other so much. Tanner had the perfect home till today. ⁣ ⁣ His dad was taken to the hospital and diagnosed with severe heart failure. He stayed in the hospital and surely Tanner wondered where his Dad had gone . He’d never been alone before. Unfortunately there is nothing they can do for Tanner’s Dad. He was basically sent home very sick, with a very poor prognosis. As the weekend went on, we were notified again to make arrangements for Tanner. Although family and friends love him, everyone has dogs or cats or both. Tanner will be heart broken when we pick him up. All of us have multi dog households. Tanner, already grieving from missing his dad, will have to go into boarding. If there is someone out there that can foster or adopt this sweet boy, please contact us right away. We can’t stand looking into those sad eyes, he doesn’t yet know, he will never see his Dad again. ⁣ ⁣ If you have no pup or kitty to share your life with, please consider this sweet boy.
