I am just LOVING today! I’m feeling super grateful for a few reasons, but mostly for no reason... which is what makes it really great. I’m just feeling really good!!! (Thank you Mars for turning your life around and spinning forward again ). ⭐️ I don’t feel like I’m walking through mud anymore which feels so free! It’s starting to be fall now, which means less crowds and cooler weather here, I was able to talk to three friends, a potential client, a potential job, thought of a possible place for a mindful pet parent workshop (in NYC!), made it to a huge milestone in my Soul to Bowl course, sent an email to my peeps which got TONS of feedback (eek!), and took time to meditate with my pups and it’s only 4pm. We’re going to go for a good walk, make dinner and keep plugging away at the program with a glass of wine. What a day! I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to get to create stuff to help others. Wahoo! What’s making you feel free today, friend?! I had someone ask me the other day if corgis shed…and I looked down at my dog hair covered self and just had to laugh. Because they definitely, definitely do. . This pup of ours is gold, through and through, but from day one there were places where our personalities clashed. Eric and I are rule makers while the one thing that immediately puts Ponderosa on edge is drawing a hard line. We are quiet, often taking up as little space space as possible, where she is LOUD and fills a room the minute she crosses the threshold. We are fairly serious. She is all play. . Many times over the past few months, I have asked: why oh why were we called to a breed that is known for so many characteristics that feel in opposition to our own instinctual way of being? But then I ruffle her sweet fox ears and see her stub tail give a wiggle and I know. . We made rules to make life feel controlled and predictable. We made ourselves small because we were afraid to be seen. We chose to be reserved because play required a genuine authenticity that felt emotionally vulnerable. Some subconscious part of us knew all of this and knew we were finally ready to let go of those old thought patterns - even though we didn’t have the words to say it out loud. That same intuition also knew that the best teacher for us during this time would have four short legs and a long, long back. A big bark and the softest chocolate eyes. And that’s why we chose a corgi. This corgi. . Though she has been on this earth for less than seven months, there are so many ways in which Ponder is wiser than I will ever be and already I am changed from this time spent knowing her. If I’m lucky she’ll continue to let me learn from her, leaving paw prints on my heart and dog hair on my clothes, for years to come.
