Today marks my 4th month in TSW. It’s been a journey so far, last month was a rollercoaster but I finally started healing after trying NMT & Cryo. The pics above are 2 months apart... . Last night me and B were watching Bohemian Rhapsody and it’s a pretty emosh film. I was sat stroking the healed part of my arm and I still can’t believe they are mine. They really do feel like normal skin. I felt a mixture of feelings but mostly joy. . . It’s bittersweet to now understand what was making my skin so bad for about 15 years. It’s sad it could have been prevented had someone been able to read the signs that my skin was addicted and reacting to topical steroids. Rather than prescribe stronger ones and worsen the problem. It’s both sad and freeing that I had to diagnose myself from the Internet. It’s life changing to now understand what was going on and to see all this ‘normal’ skin growing. This is why I’m so passionate about raising awareness. I don’t want anyone else to go through the hell I’ve been through. . The sad thing is 12% of people who use steroid creams will get addicted (physically). Some mothers get addicted just applying steroid cream on their children. Babies get addicted and have to go through the same painful & long withdrawal process I’ve been through. We need change and we need reform. TSW is no joke and needs serious recognition. . . My skin condition is not just eczema anymore... after years of using prescriped topical steroids (creams) my body was unable to function without them. I was very poorly.
