From faking my happiness and masking my emotions, to being genuinely happy and embracing life. The smile on the left is fake and cheesy. I’m only happy to have a drink in my hand. The smile on the right is real. It’s meaningful. Where do you see yourself in a year?✨ . On the left, exactly one year ago, I had just been admitted to the ER for the 4th time for alcohol poisoning after my first party bus experience. On the right I was getting ready to meet some friends and celebrate my rank advancement as an online Fitness + Empowerment Coach late this summer. What changed? The choices Ive made. Not to say that I haven't gotten sick from drinking since but never quite to this point. I slowly replaced alcohol with kombucha + my superfood shake and going out with staying in with my boyfriend or working out at home. Sometimes moderation won't do it- sometimes you need to completely cut things off. One reason I'm grateful to be pregnant is drinking isn't even an option! I had no clue I'd be where I am today, a year ago. I'm grateful for my growth and I can't wait to see what 2019 has in store for me & my lil beeb Here's to growth! Here's to progress! Keep swimming my friends . . . . . . #progress #growth #alcoholrecovery #oneyearprogress #transformation #brandnew #beforeandafter #coach #fitnesscoach #healthcoach #changeforthebetter #keepswimming

How many of you here who struggle with any type of eating disorder, also struggle with alcohol abuse, cannabis abuse or any other type of substance abuse? There are quite a few things I can say that might be able to help you on your path to recovering. I am a recovering alcoholic, 10 years of alcohol abuse, and am currently FINALLY 9 months sober for the first time in that whole 10yrs! ! I also struggled with cannabis(weed) abuse/mental reliance, and occasionally abused other substances as well. At the time, while I was still using, I didnt see how much of an impact it was having on my ability to recover. Until I stopped using. Also, I dont just have anorexia, I suffer from a mix of other mental illnesses as well. If you can relate to this, in any way, especially if you have other mental illnesses aside from having an eating disorder, and are interested in what my addiction did to me, and how recovering from those addictions helped my anorexia and EDNOS recovery, as well as recovering from the effects of my other mental illnesses; drop me a commemt below or send me a private message; And I will throw up some posts about my experience and also some information about how I overcame those addictions, and how that is affecting my life right now. I feel this is something a lot of people with an ED or mental illness will be able to relate to. And I must say, that without addressing my substance abuse, I would not have been able to make it as far in my recovery as I have this time around. I want to help you all in any way that I can. Or at least spread more awareness. So if this is something you feel you can relate to, or would just like to know more about, let me know. And I will be more than happy to share my story and experience in hopes that it will help some of you out there who are struggling to recover. . . . . . . . . #edrecovery #eatingdisorderrecovery #anorexiarecovery #mentalillnessrecovery #alcoholabuse #alcoholrecovery #alcoholic #substanceabuse #substanceaddiction #mentalhealthawareness #mentalillnessawareness #mentalhealth #mentalillness #bipolar #adhd #bpt #ptsd #anxiety #anorexia #ana #ednos #bulimia prorecovery #edwarrior

Here is a belated #flashbackfriday photo of me while I jump offline again for a while to have a nanna nap This is from one time when I decided to cover myself in shiny temporary tattoos to make myself feel better. By the way it totally worked hahaha. I'm having a a tough time with feeling waves of tiredness today as I am still in the midst of changing medication. I'm okay, aside from a lot of things going on in my life that are quite stressful atm. But I'm still going strong in my recovery. I haven't managed to gain any weight back still. But it's not stopping me from trying. I'm still feeling pretty good in my body right now. I'm just having problems with having a decent appetite. I lose a little bit of weight here and there. But I usually manage to gain it back after a couple of days of eating normally plus some extra. I'm just lacking in motivation right now. But I can't let that hinder my anorexia recovery process. I'm still doing well with not using the substances I have problems with abusing. It is just hard because some days I am feeling more valuable then others. But I won't let that get in my way. I won't let it stop me from moving forward. I will keep charging forward. For the sake of my mental health, and my physical health. So that I can continue working towards a better future . . . . . #prorecovery #edrecovery #alcoholrecovery #substanceabuse #bipolardisorder #adhd #anxitey #deppression #stress #anorexia #ednos #eatingdisorderrecovery #lifewithoutsuffering #chooselife #mentalhealthrecovery

I can’t remember who to credit this photo to. It’s interesting how when I first quit drinking I was so anxious about what I would be like at parties. And now that sober is my normal it’s a complete non issue and I wish I could have back some of that wasted energy spent worrying about nothing. I will always be weird and fun and goofy and authentic and honest. And alcohol won’t change that. Now I can accept that without fighting it, without apologizing for it and without drinking over it. (And subsequently without slurring it!) #recoveryhappyhour #podcast #alcoholism #sober #teetotaler #grayareadrinking #alcoholrecovery #mocktails #celebraterecovery
