Mr 10 months loves to crawl all over the room so I made a new sensory track for him to explore on his travels. I placed coloured craft sticks, log slices and mosaic tiles into heavy duty resealable bags and used bubble wrap & corrugated card recycled from our @obevolv packaging. Everything is taped in a ladder design on the floor with a wide masking tape. The bubble wrap was most interesting for Mr 10 months and he loved scratching the bumpy surface. My son discovered our vertical blinds and started to pull on them so I set up this, hopefully more inviting play area along the window. ❤ I tied rainbow scarves onto elastic and then tied on our wooden rings with ribbon. So far Mr 10 months loves pulling on the rings and scarves and putting them into his mouth. Miss 5 loves running through the scarves onto the deck which her brother finds hilarious! Sensory bags are an easy and mess-free way to introduce sensory play to your baby or toddler. Here's a simple spring inspired sensory bag that you can create right now! (If it’s spring where you live ) ••••• You'll need: a gallon ziplock bag, water, packing tape, flowers and leaves 1️⃣ Collect flowers and plants from outside or use fake ones (E loved going on a "flower hunt" to collect these) 2️⃣ Place the flowers inside a gallon ziplock bag and fill about 1/4 full with water 3️⃣ Remove as much air as possible and seal shut 4️⃣ Use packing tape to secure the bag closed and attach the bag to the floor or window (I like to fold one side of the tape in for easy removal) ••••• When the play is done, remove the contents inside and turn the bag inside out to dry and reuse! This activity should be supervised.

Baby Ball Run Had to share this super simple, super fun ball run I made on the weekend!!l Mr 13 months has been really interested in rolling, posting and chasing balls around the room. This play idea ticked all the boxes! I cleaned a small drainpipe and strapped it around our @obevolv table with stretchy ribbon, (elastic would work too). I used a wide sellotape to hold the ribbon in place on the drainpipe. The stretchy ribbon meant the children could move the drainpipe back & forth and up & down, without it falling off the table. Both children, and their parents, had a great time posting balls down the shoot and collecting them at the bottom. Miss 5 wanted to roll them all down at the same time, while Mr 13 months preferred rolling one ball down at a time. Then Miss 5 tried posting objects that weren't balls down the shoot to see what would happen. It was a great science experiment for her! Honestly, I didn't realise how fun this play idea would be! I would recommend it for any age. Until he stops putting things in his mouth, I wanted him to have a chance to use a tracker and I didn’t want to pay over $80 for a larger sized one! I thought he’d like one with a clear hole as he loves putting things in holes. Thankfully I already had things at home to make one - 2 x cardboard boxes (I used nappy boxes), 1 x poster storage roll, and some bread ties that come with freezer bags. I will put up photos of how I made it in my stories and then add this to my highlights. Tracking toys are good for: • Focusing on a moving object • Preparing the eyes for reading and writing • Hand-eye coordination when putting the ball through the hole He tracks movement everyday in real life e.g watching children ride bikes or scooters at the park (being at a distance makes this much easier), watching our dogs run back and forth while playing, watching balls roll around on our wooden floorboards, simply watching people walking!
