Aug 2010 - 3:57:55 Quebec City Nov 2010 3:41:21 Road2Hope Hamilton Aug 2018 3:56:22 New Brunswick Nov 2018 3:36:30 Road2Hope Hamilton May 2019 3:55:32 Ottawa Obviously not the time I wanted for Ottawa after I killed Road2Hope, but with an unexpected knee issue there was nothing I could do. So instead I have to look on the bright side: it’s still faster than my first marathon, I’m still sub 4 even when in pain for 16km of it, I still have that fire to chase that unicorn . I still have to plan out when my next marathon will be, but first, I’ll focus on recovery and loosing up this IT band. I can get out for a shorty this weekend. It’s been a hectic week. Had plumbers at the house for the last two days replacing all the pipes as we had pipes which are known to corrode and leak. They finished up just in time so Geralyn and I could get to our trail running club. We were a little late arriving and saw them starting as we pulled into the parking lot. We eventually caught up and ran most of it with the others. Was a beautiful evening to be out running these trails. Trail group run on a beautiful night. It’s been a crazy few days as we are having some plumbing work done. My house is in shambles right now but I needed this run to unwind and get back to running. The plumbers finished up with just enough time to try to make it. Neil and I got to the trail as the group was starting and we figured we would catch up. Of course we went the wrong way and got lost a bit but eventually did find them. : The trails here are so beautiful and this is where Neil and I made the decision to go for the 50k so it’s extra special to me. That was 9 months ago and I still have doubts why I am doing this sometimes. But we have come so far and I just need to trust that we will get over this life craziness soon and get to where we need to be. Guess who's back? Back again. ... Well well well. I am officially back running and it feels great(?) 2 runs in and my legs feel like jello can hardly get off the chair. Who would have thought 2.5 months off would have that much effect. ... As for my runs I am just easing myself slowly back into my routine. Not tracking or timing myself as I feel I would try push my body way too hard too fast. So for now just plugging the music in my ears and enjoying the morning to myself.

14 miles today and 7miles (1:06:55) yesterday to wrap up Week 14 of #50ktraining with 26miles (42km) : Feeling down this week with a lot of things going on right now but I am continuing on with the training. It was a beautiful day out there this morning and I felt good. 597ft elevation gain. : Hoping hubby will be good for the race in August and if not we’ll cross that bridge as we get closer. For now I have a Last Man standing trail race and a weekend getaway to look forward to in 2 weeks. Spent the day being lazy and recovering from yesterday’s run. Went shopping with my daughter for a dress for her moving on dance in a couple of weeks. Can’t believe she is going to high school next year. We have very different tastes in clothes so I was expecting a battle but it went well and we found a dress we both liked. #momwin : This evening I started this little ab challenge I found on Pinterest. I’ve never had a six pack and probably never will but going to try to put in a little work for the wonderful bathing suit season. It usually only lasts about 2 weeks here but got to be a little bit ready. Feel free to join in the ‘fun’ with me. Btw I don’t know what the last day means but we’ll figure it out when we get there. Also did some foam rolling and 15 sets of clam shells, donkey kicks, leg raises and fire hydrants to help the legs recover. Not feeling too bad but taking a couple of days off running.
