Pain is mentally and physically exhausting. Mentally I have been struggling today. The pain is high and everything I can't do stands out like a sore thumb today. We went to the food pantry and I also needed to go get some medicine. All I could think was how did I become this dependent on others? I can't drive, I can't provide financially, so many things I can't do. I keep thinking of the old me and all I did, alone, without help or permission from anyone. With high pain, my mind sometimes spirals and here we are...Each day, hour, hell even second varies with chronic illness. I can go days being okay with it all and then one day like today, I completely shut down and just want to cry. There is no "perfect" way to live this life. There is no manual we were given when chronic illness took over. We are only human and can only do our best. I break down, I cry, I ask why me....and then I get up to fight another day. Because I and you are warriors, we are chronic illness strong.Sending love and hugs warriors! I have never realized how much effect a posture can have on how you feel throughout the day. I always thought I had good posture but I would feel fatigued and sore some days and not understand why. Recently I got an opportunity to try out The Brace Lab Posture Corrector. It was a real eye opener. Apparently my posture needed some correction and this back brace did just that. I finally made it halfway across the cross walk before that impatient red hand thing told me to stop. It’s a big win for me because it was a major source of stress! (k, maybe not major) But Seriously...That hand has no idea what it’s like to be halted only a quarter way on the walk not knowing if you should keep going, head-back or just freeze with embarrassment, all while everyone in their cars stare at you. ‍♀️ It’s ironic how I used to think those crosswalks took forever...pushing that button, always in such a hurry. I guess you could say the upside to life changing experiences, including illness, is that in some of the areas you were blind, you definitely now see! #patience #compassion #learnings #crosswalkproblems

The face of a girl going home from the hospital. ✨ . Although I still have so much work ahead of me, I was happy to head home this week. . Coming with me is my very own walker, I call him ‘Paul’ for short. It’s a cant walk with him, can’t walk without him sort of relationship. . And although I have shameful feelings surrounding my walking aid, I keep reminding myself that all of those feelings are part of my very own stigmas and that people with disabilities are sometimes coined as weak, but in fact they are actually so brave and so strong.✨

Well, my walk isn’t super graceful... sometimes my feet try and go in different directions and my back muscles twitch which makes my whole body twitch. Did I mention that my left leg and foot below my knee is completely numb, which makes it difficult to not trip over. I stutter more when walk because I think my mind is both really focused and also very frustrated and well, overallI, I sort of have this whole hunchback of notre dame thing happening. but you know what, F it, I’m walking. ✨

⭐️ELIMINATE BACK PAIN⭐️ by @healyourpain_ - Back pain is the most common type of joint pain and amounts of millions of missed work days. The following depiction is a simple protocol to follow if you are experiencing chronic back pain. It is important to note that many types of exercise can relieve back pain AS LONG as it is within your tolerance and progressed appropriately. If the exercises on the far left produce too much pain, you need to regress them even more. This is why it is important to visit a competent therapist - GUIDELINES TO FOLLOW - if you are experiencing high amounts of pain and have not been very active, pick 1-2 exercises on the far left and do the LEAST possible intensity. 2-3 sets of 10-20 second holds for planks and 2 sets of 5-10 for bird dogs can be enough. Add 5-10 seconds each week and build up to 3 sets of 60 seconds and 3 sets of 15 reps (this can take a few weeks or longer so be patient!) - Once you can perform the first column at a high intensity with little fatigue, discomfort or pain, move to the next column and regress the sets and reps as this column will be more stressing on the core and body. For example, if you can do 3 sets of 60 seconds planks on your knees, do 2 sets of 30 on your toes - The last column will be the most stressing and shifts away from core exercises to greater full body movements that stress the core as well. Same rule applies as above; once you can do the second column at a high intensity with minimal discomfort, fatigue or pain, perform the last column at the least possible intensity - ‼️This is not medical advice, see a healthcare professional for your pain‼️
