Afraid of change? Fear of the unknown? I remember feeling stuck between craving major change and also feeling terrified of it. Terrified of the pain of l imagined it would bring ✨ Before realizing that I am in charge of creating my own reality, the unknown future felt super scary, and I had the hardest time letting go, even of things/habits/relationships that were toxic and unhealthy ✨ I remember saying to my ex husband “please don’t leave me, I don’t know what to do without you”, and holding on to our marriage even though deep down I knew that neither one of us would feel the way we want ✨ It’s hard to find even imagine that old thinking and former version of myself ✨ And that mindset kept me from experiencing my true and highest self (that unchanging part of me/us that is underneath all that BS conditioning) ✨ When our marriage abruptly blew up in a million pieces in 2013, I realized that this fear of the unknown/change is just encrypted bullsh*t. The worst that my mind could imagine had happened, and while excruciatingly painful, I didn’t die or break ✨ Like so many other beliefs, the limiting story around change is passed down from generation to generation, until somebody stands up and changes it ✨ I changed my beliefs, and entrained my brain to be so comfortable with change that I am willing to let go of everything if it means that I am living the life my soul came here to live ✨ I suffered for so many years because I was so afraid of the pain I thought change would bring. When really, the pain eventually passed. The suffering was never ending and way worse ✨ Pain is mandatory, suffering is optional ✨ We can change your mindset about change. I remember as a child being called sensitive because I felt deeply. As if being sensitive is such a flawed and broken thing to be. I was emotionally touchy. I dived deep into friendships as if connection was the be-all and end-all. On the other extreme, I also despised people who hurt me. I'd walk into rooms and be wrapped in the energy of whatever happened there moments before, thinking it was mine. My physical body was also sensitive. I was sickly. I suffered from allergies. A small virus would have me spinning into a full-on bout of the flu and an asthma attack. I had no energetic boundaries. It was for that reason, my skin was so bad. The skin is the membrane between the inner and the outer world. I had allowed others to breach my defenses without knowing it.⠀⠀ ❁⁣⠀⠀ ⁣Par for the course, if you're a hyper sensitive person. In a way, it felt like an affliction. I didn't know my emotional sensitivity was related to my physical body misbehaving. Or to the inner radar that switches on, when someone is lying. Or to the weird voices in my head, lol. I would've given a lot to be normal when I was a child. But knowing what I know now and journeying to what was my unknown to face my shadow self, I realised being sensitive is a source of strength. It's a super-power.⠀⠀ ❁⁣⠀⠀ ⁣For you who feel deeply like me, you're not broken. Perhaps you're sensing the cracks and splinters of the world around you, as it cries out to be healed.
