I’ve DEFINITELY found myself in this situation and seen this countless times with clients. I want you to eat the foods that help you THRIVE, so stock up that freezer of veggies and order yourself the side of steamed veggies when out at a restaurant. There’s nothing wrong with what “they” are eating, but if you don’t speak up for yourself, nobody will!

Okay - now that I've gotten your attention - of course, vegetables have calories, but you know me I won't pass up the chance to say something outrageous to catch your eye.⠀

Now, there's a lot of chatter online about "negative calorie foods", basically, calories that require more energy to digest than they contain, resulting in a calorie deficit. So let's be clear, before anyone gets confused - they don't exist. ⠀
⠀
But when it comes to vegetables however - I always tell my clients the same thing - "eat a lot and eat them often". And here is one of the primary reasons why - volume. These calorie values are based on 100g of raw, uncooked veg. Ever see 100g of spinach or celery - it's a huge portion. You're rarely gonna sit and eat it.⠀

That's what makes them great for weight loss - you can pile them high, leaving you full to the brim for essentially no calorie impact. So much so that I tell my clients they don't really need to weigh out or track their veg intake. ⠀

As well as having a tonne of volume and being great for weight loss - they are jam packed with micro nutrients and have a whole host of benefits for general health - so always eat your veggies!⠀

More. Donuts. Krispy Kreme dropped its new Fruit Doughnut Collection for the summer, and since I don’t have a Krispy Kreme near me back home, I had to make a stop before leaving Nashville. The three flavors range from decent to great: Strawberry is just a strawberry filled doughnut with extra strawberry frosting on top, Key Lime is good but not strong enough in flavor (and got mangled in the kitchen, apparently), and Pineapple has a brilliant citrus taste and almost pulp-like filling. I probably didn’t need to order three doughnuts after everything else I’ve eaten during this trip, but hey, at least I can count these as my servings of fruit for the day.
