Breakfast ideas for Babies & Toddlers Raffy has always LOVED his breakfast! It’s definitely his favourite meal of the day and usually the meal that I can guarantee getting some good nutrients into his diet. I very often get asked about breakfast ideas for babies/toddlers, and so for this week’s meal sharing, I thought I’d share some of my favourite breakfasts to offer my boy! I try to vary his breakfast, but it’s less easy now he’s at nursery & my work is so busy! It’s good to vary baby’s brekkie as much as you can though, mainly so that they have plenty of variety but also so that baby doesn’t get bored with having the same breakfast every day. Breakfast is a great meal for kids and is a perfect time to try and include plenty of fruits/veggies, fibre and vitamins and minerals into their diet too. I usually try to make sure I’m including AT LEAST: - a portion of carbohydrates - a portion of fruit - a portion of dairy or alternatives And sometimes a portion of protein such as hummus, peanut butter or egg. ✅Some of the options I offer are photographed above (well the ones that come out looking pretty anyway ). These include: Yogurt with seeds, oats and fresh fruit Pancakes with fruit & yogurt Savoury pancakes with egg, tomato, chive & a side of kiwi Porridge with nut butters, berries & fruit finger food Egg and avocado on toast Omelette with bread and grape fingers Weetabix with milk, oats, seeds and chopped figs & plums Spinach and mushroom fritattas with hummus (see recipes in stories!) Dippy egg (fine for baby as long as the egg is Red Lion Stamped) with toast & avo soilders Savoury beetroot porridge (see recipe in bio) A full English - see yesterday’s stories, also works well too These are just some of the ideas I offer. baby E has been eating solids for a good period of time (2months to be exact)& here are some of my interpretations.... • the minute you start solids with your baby ,shit gets REAL!!!! literally • every baby is different.my first born had zero interests in food,but Eesa is a foodie baby ,he loves anything & everything that is offered to him • up until 1 yr of age,baby's source of nutrients comes from either breast milk or formula so its ok if your babe is playing with food rather than actually eating it • Baby with food is obviously messy ,but who cares, its fun & they are learning. • I do a combination of baby led weaning with here & there traditional spoon feeding.sometimes i make purees too &somedays i just buy ready baby food #noshameinmygame#youdoyou. .
