Yesterday I tried a new technique. I attempted a *blow out* like @jake_c_glass does on youtube. He makes it look ten times easier than it was for me! The color is shifty peach from @greasyglassdeals and it works like butter. After being worked the color shift is still incredible. This piece fought me the whole way but came out beautifully! Here I’m adding lots of tiny spikes all along the dragon’s back with a new technique - pulling a piece of cane and cutting it into small pieces then and adding each piece one at a time. In this case I used @kuglercolors enamel white for the spikes. Enamel white is a good color to use for small details like this because it’s fairly stiff and doesn’t melt out easily. After adding each piece of cane, I go back and pull them into spikes. I’m able to get a lot smaller details doing it this way rather than adding bits. I’ve used this technique for teeth and spikes - what would you use it for in your own work?
