Yesterday I tried a new technique. I attempted a *blow out* like @jake_c_glass does on youtube. He makes it look ten times easier than it was for me! The color is shifty peach from @greasyglassdeals and it works like butter. After being worked the color shift is still incredible. This piece fought me the whole way but came out beautifully! The cold-work was a delicate challenge - like carving a crystal sword. Her name remains a mystery. Here I’m adding lots of tiny spikes all along the dragon’s back with a new technique - pulling a piece of cane and cutting it into small pieces then and adding each piece one at a time. In this case I used @kuglercolors enamel white for the spikes. Enamel white is a good color to use for small details like this because it’s fairly stiff and doesn’t melt out easily. After adding each piece of cane, I go back and pull them into spikes. I’m able to get a lot smaller details doing it this way rather than adding bits. I’ve used this technique for teeth and spikes - what would you use it for in your own work?
