ACTS 21 . Has the Lord ever told you to do something that you just didn’t want to do? Yeah, me too. I’ve wrestled with him over so many things because I just didn’t like what I was hearing. I guess I thought that if I protested enough he would change his mind. Funny thing though, he never did. . The disciples with Paul were totally doing that same thing. The Holy Spirit had been pretty clear that Paul needed to go to Jerusalem. But he had also been pretty clear that a lot of bad things would happen once he was there. The disciples didn’t want Paul to go through all that, so they asked him not to go. In fact, they begged him not to. . But Paul wouldn’t budge. He got it. He knew spreading the gospel was what God had called him to do, and he was ready to give up his life to complete that mission. Complete and total obedience. . The disciples finally got there, but only because they couldn’t change Paul’s mind. When they realized they were wasting their time trying is when they finally said, “Let the Lord’s will be done.” . I actually chuckled at this a little. They gave into the Lord because they had no other choice. Their attempts to operate outside of it had failed. That’s not exactly obedience. I’d classify it more as desperation. . But I’ve been there. Man, can I relate to these guys. Maybe it’s so funny because it’s so true. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve walked in what appears to be obedience, but only after none of my ways worked. . I’m actually walking through this a little right now. He’s given me some pretty big clarity on something I’ve been dealing with for a while now, and there’s a step I’ve got to take in response to that. There are several outcomes it could lead to, and I honestly have no clue which way it will go. I just can’t help but think that the Lord brought me to this passage today as a reminder that he knows which way it will go, and I can trust that. His will is always better than mine, and if I really believe that, obedience should be as easy for me as it was for Paul. . I do believe it. I do trust him. I do want his will to be done. . Expectations is a number one cause of misery for any addict. I expected people to understand me, I expected them to act a certain way and when they don't, I took it personally and it played a number on me. Today I don't except anymore, I accep that I have been given a set of tools to deal with life on life's term, but most people don't have the guidance and wisdom that I have been given in recovery. What we do as Christians is important. We represent Jesus. This is one reason why He speaks about lukewarm Christians: you're either in or out, but having one foot in and one foot out means that you're tarnishing Jesus' name. On the other hand, this is *exactly* why we need to look to Jesus as our example. Sure, we can have mentors and people we look up to, but people will always let you down and disappoint you. When we idolize any person, we're basically setting ourselves up to be let down at times. My prayer is for people to walk together and support one another as the church, the collective body of Believers in Jesus Christ. But we look to Jesus as our leader and follow His example above all others

✨THANK YOU CHAPTER 30 ✨ ・・・ You were a very GOOD read filled with numerous LESSONS & BLESSINGS ・・・ A year ago today, family & friends surprised me with a Birthday Dinner. Initially last minute, I had my 30th celebration all planned out with my outfit all set & ready to celebrate with my love ones but little did I know that a week to my birthday, I’ll be standing outside tearing up watching my house burn down with all my valuables. I remember saying to myself that wow I could’ve been trapped in that fire & I wouldn’t be alive to celebrate my 30th. I was indeed thankful to God for the life of my family & I but I ended up cancelling my birthday plans & just wanted to be left alone. My Bday was on a Sunday & all I wanted to do was to go to church & PRAISE & WORSHIP GOD & come back to my hotel to cry & sleep I had lost every bit of interest in celebrating that day, but God used my family & friends to throw me a surprise dinner after church & I must say that I was sooo emotional that I couldn’t stop crying. The tears I planned on shedding in private, God had already planned for it to be shed around family & friends. I always knew that I was loved but WAT A WAW!
