Buffalo Marathon 2019 vs 2018. 11 minute difference. 620 vs 562 miles. This build up was a lot different I had to work a lot harder to get my runs in before work, had the most weeks at 35 plus that I’ve ever had. A lot of 5 am wake up calls, and running like a bat out of hell to keep up with my distance kids got me here. I said yesterday that coming back from a marathon is humbling—even knowing it doesn’t make it any easier.
My average heart rate during my marathon was 165. My average heart rate today was 158 ♀️ ha.
I have to remind myself that this is part of the journey, that it’s normal, and that I will indeed run fast again. But it’s so important to come back slowly and to respect this body that completed my fastest marathon just over a week ago, so you won’t be seeing any speed from me for a bit, and I’m ok with that :)

Welp, this turned out to be a streak saver and this picture is pretty accurate of how I felt today. A fever and headache on and off today plus a 6 year old with the same symptoms made for one rough day. My fever seems to be gone (no fever in the last 2 hours) but my body and head still hurt. Hopefully going to bed at 8 will help me feel better in the am.
