Push day workout . Follow @dancudes . If you're like me, push days are one of your favourite days. Getting a nice chest and triceps pump with some boulder shoulders never hurt no one. I get asked frequently how many exercises to do on a push day, or even a pull day for that matter and how to structure them. For me, I like to choose 1 to 2 exercises for my shoulders, triceps, chest and even core. That being said I also know my chest is overdeveloped in comparison to my shoulders and triceps so maybe manipualting that rule so I do 1 exercise for my chest and 2 for triceps and shoulders could be of benefit for me. Notice I don't say you have to do one specific exercise in any category. Instead, I like using a bank of exercises in each category which means you can keep things fresh and change up the exercises each month, week or even each workout. I also like taking 1-3 minutes if rest and staying 1 rep short of failure so I ensure consistent progress. A sample push day for me would be: incline press, overhead press, weighted dips, lateral raises, a superset of tricep kickbacks and skull crushers, wood choppers and planks. . ✅ Follow @dancudes ✅ Follow @dancudes ✅ Follow @dancudes ______________________ #leanmuscle #makegains #gainmuscle #fittips #gymmotivation #squats #deadlifts #leangains #musclebuilding #buildmuscle #weightgain #liftweights #upperbody #weightlosscoach #nutritioncoach #getinshape #musclemass #musclegain #musclegains #trainhardorgohome #trainlikeabeast #gymtips #strengthening #gainmuscle #musclegrowth #legdayworkout #goodworkout #keepmuscle #preworkoutsnack

8 habits of fit people . Follow @dancudes . Everyone wants to get fit, strong, lean and healthy but few want to develop the habits to do so. People are so much more focused on the shortcuts and the keto and the intermittent fasting and the magic pills or waist trainers or whatever that are supposedly supposed to make you lose 100lbs over night and transform your body in a blink of an eye. The truth is, those results come from habits and lifestyle, not from any one special thing. Habits like meal prepping, keeping a food and training log and making anecdotal notes, getting more active throughout the day, always parking far away from the front door of the building, and strength training all lead to the body you want. Patience is another big variable and it is habitual. Also, fit people don't make excuses. They make progress. . ✅ Follow @dancudes ✅ Follow @dancudes ✅ Follow @dancudes ______________________ #squats #deadlifts #workoutroutine #gymmotivation #leanmuscle #musclebuilding #weightgain #leangains #fitnesschallenge #getinshape #postworkoutmeal #sportsnutrition #proteins #upperbody #jacked #musclemass #buildingmuscle #musclegrowth #musclegains #gainmuscle #getshredded #sixpackabs #strengthening #workouttips #workoutlife #gains #gainsville #fatlosscoach #fatlosshelp

When should you do cardio - Follow @dancudes ! - This is a question I get asked quite a bit ➡️ "when should I do cardio? Before or after weights?". Now, unless you're a marathon runner and the goal is to build cardiovascular endurance, 9/10 times, the answer is always either after strength training or on a seperate day. The reason for this is because for most people, the goal is to build strength, muscle mass, overall fitness, and be lean in which case, I like to prioritize strength training. You have to tackle your strength training head on with intensity to create enough of a stimulus to force growth and gain. If you do cardio beforehand (aside from a cardiovascular warm-up which is different and I strongly encourage you to warm up properly), you unfortunately are taxing yourself and using a lot of that stored glycogen that needs to be used for your strength training. If you're goal is to do 5x5 today for deadlifts, doing that after a cardio session, especially a HIIT session, will definitely be a struggle especially if the goal was to lift heavier than last session. To be honest, the ideal situation is to do cardio on different/opposing days to strength training. With that being said, another thing you could do, depending on the cardio, is lower intensity cardio in the morning (e.g. a fasted walk) and then strength training in the evening after you've fed your body throughout the day. When do you do cardio? Let me know in the comments below and tag a friend that should see this. . ✅ Follow @dancudes ✅ Follow @dancudes ✅ Follow @dancudes ______________________ #workout #workoutroutine #gymtips #gymmotivation #exercise #musclegain #musclegains #fitnesstips #fittips #musclemass #musclebuilding #buildingmuscle #musclegrowth #gainmuscle #weightgain #jacked #trainhardorgohome #trainlikeabeast #weightmanagement #workout #gainzz #gainz #getinshape #leangains #fitgram #nutritioncoach #sixpackabs #workouttips #workoutlife

⭕️DEADLIFTS: PRE-PULL TENSION by @pheasyque ⭕️⁣ ⁣ One of the most important things when it comes to deadlifting is learning how to create full body tension before pulling the barbell up.⁣ ⁣ When I say "creating tension" there are a few things to keep in mind: ⁣ ⁣ (1) arms should be kept straight through the entire movement. They don't bend, they're simply "hooks" that attach you to the bar. ⁣ ⁣ (2) pulling the slack out of the barbell: this is most important part in creating whole body tension. What does it mean? It's basically pulling the bar up towards yourself, kind of "tearing it apart", making it adhere to the upper portion of the plates, while getting into position to perform the actual lift. You hear a "click" before the barbell starts moving up if you do it correctly. This happens BEFORE the actual pull at each and every rep. ⁣ ⁣ ❌❌❌Instead, what newbies typically do is just get into "position" and jerk the bar up, which obviously comes more "intuitive": Arms bent, the bar gets pushed down and then it gets lifted up. ⁣ ⁣ This happens very commonly and it is actually one reason why people get injured through deadlifting and also one reason why most people don't deadlift at all. ⁣ . ✅ Follow @dancudes ✅ Follow @dancudes ✅ Follow @dancudes ______________________ #workout #leanmuscle #workoutroutine #musclegain #fitnessfreaks #musclebuilding #weightgain #nutritioncoach #liftweights #jacked #getinshape #hypertrophy #musclemania #fitnessphysique #strengthandconditioning #personaltrainer #gainmuscle #musclegains #musclegrowth #musclemass #gainsville #gainzville #fitnessfam #trainhardorgohome #journeytofit #fitgram #gotothegym #preworkoutsnack

How to get strong . Follow @dancudes . One of the most common questions I get is "Dan, how do I get strong”. And though strength can be displayed in many different ways such as being able to hold a back lever or deadlift 3x your bodyweight, the process to get strong is the same. Strength gains is more so neuromuscular adaptations such as motor unit recruitment and rate coding though hypertrophy can also lead to strength gains. First and foremost, you have to train heavy which is also a relative term. For beginners, staying in the higher rep ranges, 10-20, at the beginning will build strength whereas as you get more fit, you'll need to dip to those lower rep ranges such as the 4 to 7 or so. Next, you have to train with perfect form meaning that 5 quality reps are always going to be better than 10 crappy ones. Form means proper muscle activation and safety so you're not only going to get the benefits of the exercise but also train long enough without an injury to actually get those results. Next, you have to train with progressive overload meaning you're increasing the reps, weight, time under tension, etc which makes the exercise harder, pushes your body farther than what it is used to which means it has to adapt. I personally like working within a rep range, let's say 4 to 7, and adding reps until all my sets are the highest in that rep range, then adding weight. And lastly, you got to do all of the above consistently, for a long period of time. . ✅ Follow @dancudes ✅ Follow @dancudes ✅ Follow @dancudes ______________________ #getstronger #personaltrainer #workouts #exercise #gainz #musclebuilding #weightgain #leangains #musclefood #postworkoutmeal #fatlossjourney #liftweights #fitnesschallenge #personaltrainers #jacked #musclemass #gainsville #gainmuscle #musclegains #musclegrowth #strengthening #losefat #getshredded #sixpackabs #gains #goodworkout #fittips #gainzville #gainzz
