I always love when this video floats through my feed. For those who don’t know, a University of Wisconsin-Stout student was speeding on his way to class. Thats when Officer Martin Folcyzk from the Menomine Police Department pulled him over and asked him why. He said that he had a presentation in 15 minutes but he had to go to a buddies house so that he could get his tie tied. The Officer then told the student give him the tie. He tied it and after he finished, he helped adjust it onto the student. He was given a verbal warning and went on to his class. The student went to social media to thank the officer for helping him get to class on time and announced that he had aced his presentation. After all was said and done, the Chief ended up seeing the video and actually invited the student to the department and taught him how to tie a tie. If I asked you “what is a hero?”, how would you respond? For me, there is a simple answer. Look at this video. This video is a little bit older but it shows the heroic actions taken by 3 Rapid City South Dakota Officers. Jeff Seamans was on his way to Montana with his wife and step daughter. He was the passenger in the vehicle when all of the sudden he went into cardiac arrest. His wife immediately pulled over and called 911. Officer Kathleen Callery was the first Officer on scene. Her and the wife tried to pull Jeff onto a flat surface but couldn’t do so. That’s when Officer Michael Frybarger and Officer Chris Hunt arrived on scene (that’s where the video starts) and they rushed in to help. They dragged him onto a flat surface and began administering CPR. For 4 long minutes, all 3 officers took turns giving first aid. By the time EMS arrived, Jeff Seamans was breathing on his own. He was rushed to Rapid City Regional Hospital and was released several days later. After his release, he went to the department and thanked the officers personally. All 3 officers won awards for the life saving measures they took that ultimately gave Mr. Seamans a second chance at life. I’m pretty sure everybody has seen it, but for those who haven’t here is what happened. Sergeant Greg Bogert of the Riverdale, New Jersey Police Department got a call of man flagging down cars and walking in and out of traffic on an interstate. As soon as Sgt Bogert arrived on scene, the man immediately made a dash towards the side of the overpass and attempted to take his own life. Sgt Bogert jumped out of his car and screamed “Don’t Do it, Don’t f**king do it” and was able to tackle the man just milliseconds before he jumped. The man immediately broke down sobbing saying “All my family is dead, I just wanna die”. To which Sgt Bogert replied, “It ain’t worth it bro, it ain’t f**king worth it”. The man was transported to a nearby medical center and was evaluated by mental health professionals. Apparently, the man later reached out to Sgt Bogert and the two have been in contact ever since. These videos need to be publicized, these officers deserve the recognition, these incidents should be talked about and shown on every major news station. This is the face of hero. A Maine State Trooper noticed a car driving erratically. He pulled the man over and walked up to his window when he recognized labored breathing. He walked back to his car to run his information and when he walked back up he noticed the man was unconscious. He pulled him out of the car and started giving him sternum rubs to which he responded to. After the video ends, a off duty nurse pulled up and they both started giving him CPR until paramedics arrived. He was transported to a hospital and it was found that the man overdosed on heroin. ⚠️WARNING⚠️ Some images displayed in the following videos contains graphic content. ______________________________ Two LAPD Officers had spotted a vehicle that ran a stop sign. When the suspect noticed the officers following, he pulled into an apartment complex. They decided to attempt a stop to which the suspect stopped and jumped out of his car to flee on foot. As they were running through the apartment complex, a completely different man, later identified as Curley Duff (39), spotted the foot pursuit. He ran directly to the path of the officers. He let the first officer pass, then he pulled out a handgun and fired at the second officer at point blank range, striking him in the thigh. The officer, despite his wounds, was able to return fire to end the threat. Duff was handcuffed and after a minute, the officer who was shot, collapsed (seen in the 2nd and 4th videos). Both were transported to the hospital and both survived the shooting. Curley Duff was ultimately charged with Aggravated Assault on a Peace Officer, Attempted Murder Of a Peace Officer, and other gun charges. The officer was cleared of any wrongdoing. #RIP A 24-year-old off-duty officer was killed late Tuesday night after being hit by car in Prince George's County, Md. Officer Davon McKenzie was riding a motorcycle in the southbound lanes of I-495 at Route 202 around 11 p.m. when he was hit by another car. After he was hit, McKenzie was thrown from the bike, over the jersey wall, and landed in the northbound lanes of the capital beltway where he was hit by two oncoming vehicles in the northbound lanes, officials said. He was taken to UM Prince George's Hospital Center where he later died.
