Paula Scher and team have designed a new brand identity for the Children’s Museum of Pittsburgh @pghkids and identity and environmental graphics for its new #MuseumLab, a maker space for older kids in the former Carnegie Free Library. The renovation by @koningeizenberg refurbishes select areas of the Library and leaves others in their existing stressed condition, creating what the Pentagram designers called a “beautiful ruin.” The signage program uses a clean, modern design in contrast to the historic 1890 landmark. Inexpensive industrial materials like LED bulbs and metal frames are used for sleek, elegant signs that set off the rough space. . The refreshed identity recasts the previous wordmark in a new font, Sharp Sans Display No. 1. In 2011, @nycparks introduced a refreshed brand identity by #PaulaScher that streamlined the iconic leaf symbol and introduced a comprehensive brand system. The project included the design of a cohesive program of signage, wayfinding and environmental graphics, and eight years later, these new signs have been implemented in almost all of the city's more than 1,700 parks, playgrounds and recreational facilities across the five boroughs. Prior to the redesign, signs in each park existed as a cacophony of separate panels and signage types in a variety of sizes and colors, all jumbled together in a patchwork of information. ”The Fruit of the Spirit”, a modernized take on the verse from Galatians 5:22-23, my new mural for the school canteen at @ycis.hongkong Recent renovations at the school left behind a few too many gray walls, including this one outside the student canteen! This area is a major hangout for the students, and a place they visit multiple times a day, so I wanted to create a colorful piece featuring an uplifting message on this wall. I also incorporated the color scheme used in the nearby classrooms and renovated areas (so although this looks pretty wild, it matches!) . «سلام» یک پروژه‌ موقت هنر شهری بود که توسط پریسا تشکری در شهر بولدر کلورادو طی سه ماه اجرا شد. دفتر هنر و فرهنگ شهر بولدر که زیر نظر مستقیم شورای شهر فعالیت دارد، برگزارکننده‌ اصلی رویدادهای هنری شهری بولدر است و در سال ۲۰۱۸ هشت هنرمند را برای اجرای پروژه‌های موقت و دائم Public art انتخاب کرده و از میان آن‌ها تشکری به همراه سه هنرمند دیگر به مرحله‌ نهایی راه پیدا کردند و این اولین بار بود که یک اثر پابلیک آرت از یک هنرمند ایرانی در ایالت کلورادو اجرا می‌شد. پایه‌ اصلی این اثر از یک حصار فلزی تشکیل شده بود که برای سه ماه در مسیر ورودی اصلی کتابخانه‌ مرکزی شهر که یکی از مراکز پر رفت و آمد و پربازدید شهر بولدر به حساب می‌آید نصب شده بود. تشکری درباره‌ ایده‌ اصلی این اثر چنین می‌گوید: «لحظاتی در زندگی یک طراح به وجود می‌اید که باید تصمیم بگیرد آیا می‌خواهد فقط در مسیری که همیشه بوده و با آن آشناست قدم بردارد و منتظر سفارشی از مشتری که شاید گاه وجود نداشته باشد بماند و یا بهتر است مسیرش را تغییر دهد و با تجربه‌های جدیدی در حرفه‌اش روبه رو شود. مهاجرت یعنی تغییر مسیر و لمس واقعی تفاوت‌ها! و مهمترین این تفاوتها برای یک طراح همان تفاوت‌های فرهنگی و زبان مکالمه است. من حدود یک سال بود که به کلورادو مهاجرت کرده بودم و در طی آن یک سال، شاهد نگرش و رفتارهای متفاوت مردم بودم. برخی از آن‌ رفتارها جالب و دوست داشتنی بود و بعضی دیگر بسیار دور از چیزی که با آن بزرگ شده بودم و گاه تلخ! تعارف و سلام کردن یکی از مهمترین این تفاوت‌های فرهنگی بود که با آن مواجه شدم. همکاران، دوستان و حتی اقوام نزدیک در آمریکا به شکلی که ما در ایران به یکدیگر سلام و خوش‌امدگویی می‌گوییم رفتار نمی کنند. گفت‌ و گوها معمولا خلاصه صورت می‌گیرد. البته بعدها متوجه شدم که این دلیلی بر بی‌ادبی مردم و یا نامهربان بودن آن‌ها نیست بلکه از یک تفاوت فرهنگی و البته صرفه‌جویی در وقت! سرچشمه می‌گیرد. عادت سلام دادن اما، عادت زیبایی ‌است که در فرهنگ ما وجود دارد و بی شک سلام دریچه‌ اصلی هر ارتباط و مکالمه‌ای به حساب می‌اید؛ بنابراین تصمیم گرفتم با تکرار این کلمه به زبان‌های متفاوت فرهنگ سلام گفتن را گسترش دهم.» ادامه مطلب در https://bit.ly/2Zlg0R4 . @parisa.tashakori . #روزرنگ #پروژه_روز #گرافیک #دیزاین #خلاقیت #گرافیک_محیطی #تایپوگرافی #roozrang #projectoftheday #graphic #design #creativity #illustration #environmentalgraphics #typography
