FREEDOM - the power to act as one wants, without hinderance or restraint. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ On thanksgiving weekend I got a devastating call that my friend, who I consider a sister, was ejected from a truck (that was completely totaled) and rushed to trauma with brain neck and body injuries. First thing I did was pray- and I’m talking bout calling prayer warriors, speaking life over Fe, wisdom over the surgeons, supernatural healing, “you said in YOUR WORD...” type prayer!!! The next thing I did was book a flight, to pray over her in person (and to lay her edges‍♀️ - real friend tings )! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ See, if this would have happened a few years ago, my “friendship support” would have stopped at ‘prayers’, because my job or money wouldn’t allow for a last minute flight to cali, even though I would’ve wanted to be there. Thats what I’ve always envisioned freedom to look like - its not just the money and material things- it’s having the OPTIONS to do what you want, when you want without having to make decisions based on time or money... and I’m blessed that I found a way to have it when I didn’t even know I would need it ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ And now, we’re sitting in Egypt a few months later with a new appreciation for how precious life is and how you should live it to the fullest!! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ What does freedom look like to you?

Soaking up the views in Fort de France Do you have a love/hate relationship with a place you’ve been to? Where? I’m curious! ..... I don’t know if I told you guys before, but I have a real love/hate relationship with this city I’ve never been challenged abroad the way I have here. As you can tell by the buildings behind me, Fort de France is rough, gritty and beautiful all at the same time. It’s a place where you can encounter the rudest person you’ve ever met in your life, then later find yourself wrapped in conversation with the sweetest soul. A city where the bus goes on strike without warning, leaving you stranded in the hot sun for hours with no ride home ‍♀️ And in this same city, you can find yourself on the beach with a homemade ice cream and gorgeous sunset ..... Regardless of all that, it will always have a special place in my heart and I’m grateful for the many lessons. Every place has its good and bad, it’s the reality of travel. For years Quito has always been high on my list because I've always wanted to stand in the center of the world. I'm loving Quito and surprised it isn't high most travelers radar.⁣ When I say Ecuador is cheap believe me. I only paid $79 roundtrip from Guayaquil to Quito which was a 50-minute flight. ⁣ ⁣ However, when visiting Quito be aware of the high altitude. Yesterday I cut my day short because of being light head with a bad headache. That's the disadvantage of having a small head. You folks with big heads are lucky at times . ⁣ I met a photographer & gave him $20 to use his drone so I could try to capture the beautiful landscape around the monument. Quito is definitely in my top 3 favorite cities in South America. ⁣ ⁣ Few things to know about Quito.⁣ ⁣ 1. It has an altitude around 9,000 ft.⁣ Interesting the elevation is too for the transmission of malaria.⁣ ⁣ The symptoms of altitude sickness may include nausea, dizziness, headaches, loss of appetite, & insomnia.⁣ Bring some coca tea or get some here to help adjust to the high altitude. ⁣ 2. The official name of the city is San Francisco de Quito. ⁣ ⁣ 3.The dry season (June-Sept) is considered winter. At this time of year it’s generally drier and cooler than the wet season.⁣ The wet season (Oct-May) is slightly warmer with more rainfall.⁣ ⁣ 4. Quito is 15 miles south of the equator.⁣ These sun rays hit a little different near the equator. ⁣ ⁣ And far as my shirt, I feel I'm part of the movement of black men breaking the stereotypes that we don't travel or only travel through the military. Oh my favorite one, men from the South are slow and don't get passports ⁣ ⁣ Do you find these stereotype slowly fading away or do think there's some truth to it?
