I grew up thinking the Bible was the ultimate authority on every decision I made. If you follow the vlog, you probably grew up the same way. One, singular way of thinking. Jehovah's Witnesses have chaperoned dates, everyone gossips about you, and you're judged on what you do or who you date. Until I read it again. I was shocked at my new mindset when I found out the Bible and God both support rape, murder, murdering children, hurting people for things they didn't do, sexism, hate, slavery, and God never seems to give a shit about his people. INTUITION Detachment Change . . Ah this card pull made me cry,,, I hold so many tensions in my hips. I know deep down that I have to let the past hurt out and let it go, to be detached from the horrors of sexual abuse as a child,, to the rejection of family when I left the Jehovah Witness faith 5 years ago, to my daily battle with my own self deprecating thoughts each day. Hip openers have really helped me to sit with these feelings, to breathe into the painful areas, to observe and to slowly release all that doesn’t serve me anymore in my path ahead. . . This week has been in the works for a long time. Going to the Capitol of California with two activist groups I'm apart of. Letting our voices be heard to reintroduce a bill this year by telling our stories to prevent all religious organizations, cults, corporations, politicians, and businesses from continuing to hide child/sex abusers. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We thought it was impossible at first. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ We all would meet and think "There has to be some way to confront these huge billion dollar corporations from continuing to destroy lives!?" A lot of Ex Cult survivors or born ins are told growing up to cut ties with family and friends that don’t believe. This tactic is for isolation, hardening the victims heart, and testing the loyalty to the cult leaders. Yep, I do this almost every time someone tells me they believe in Jesus anymore lol! And if I don't say it, I *always* think it. The Bible warns about what Paul calls a 'different Jesus' and a 'different gospel.' What's so difficult as a new Christian is seeing how many false versions of Jesus are actually out there and comparing it to the authentic Jesus talked about in Scripture. The best way to know who Jesus actually is? Is by knowing what Scripture says about Him and -knowing- Him through prayer and seeking truth. An example of this? So in the new age, meet Jesus the ascended master! He's what we all can be and aspire to! Anyone can channel him and get advice. Up next is the Jesus of the new thought! He's metaphysical, all loving, not judgmental at all and doesn't believe in sin. Your beliefs are whatever you make them, and there are many paths to salvation! Then there's the infamous Jesus of the Jehovah's witnesses! He's not God, but a mere creation of God as Michael the archangel! Behind curtain number four is the Jesus of the mormons! Sure he's God... But we can all be Gods! He's our example and spirit brother! Around the next heretical corner we have the Jesus of our imaginations! Any definition that you want to make of jesus? You can! As long as he doesn't ever judge, he does what you want, and isn't unique to salvation or says the scriptures are authoritative and all things should be tested against it: other books, experiences, and prophetic claims. The Jesus of the Jews is a madman. The Jesus of secularism is a 'good man.' I could go on Paul is speaking about the Jesus of scripture, the one who died for the sins of mankind, calls sin what it is, rose again, and says we must repent. Such an unpopular Jesus requires others to make a Jesus they can understand and are comfortable with.
