Do you think that the Middle East has way too many preconceived negative notions? - Growing up in the Philippines, which is 90% Catholic, it was normal to perceive Muslims 'differently.' It didn't help that there were extremists who plotted terrorist attacks in Manila in the early 2000s either. So when I told family and friends that I was going to visit Oman, I got a lot of confused and worried looks. - When I finally got there, I also felt that I did not feel 100% at ease, but it had nothing to do with the people around me. It had more to do with years of judgment and fear being subconsciously fed into my brain through media and stories. In the end, the most rewarding thing about traveling to Oman aside from the beautiful architecture and landscapes was the realization that I could break through those subconscious notions, and instead learn to love and appreciate the warmth of the people and depth of the culture and religion. - It is not our differences that divide us, it is the inability to recognize, accept, and celebrate those differences. We owe it to each other to look past what makes us different and create bonds that go beyond borders. :)

Natures finest swimming pool. This sinkhole is home to the Garra Rufa fish. The same ones people pay big dollars for in those fish pedicure joints.
