BRACE YOURSELVES. Today is THE DAY and so I couldn't NOT post something #GoT related...⠀(there might be spoilers in the comments!)⠀⠀
⠀⠀
I'm very anxious about this series finale. After last week's episode my trust in the writers is pretty much gone (it was kind of the last straw ) and I have no idea where this is all going. One episode to wrap this hot mess up. Sounds great. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
I had a lot of theories at the beginning of this season but they were all based on the character arcs and their development throughout the series. Since the writers don't know what those things are I'm pretty sure none of those theories will become reality. Scroll down for spoilers.⠀⠀

It's clear Dany was never supposed to sit on that throne. I didn't see it happening in the books and I didn't see it happening on the show. I just had this feeling. After that fiasco in King's Landing I'm pretty sure everyone agrees that she should pack up and go back to Meereen. ⠀⠀
⠀⠀
That leaves the throne vacant for someone else to take. I don't want Jon anywhere near it because he's not the smartest of the bunch and he's overall too GOOD. I really hoped Sansa would have made a move by now but it seems like she didn't. I'm still hoping she has a plan though. I hope she and Tyrion came up with a master plan that even Littlefinger would applaud. Davos still has to smuggle something... or someone? Will we know the purpose of the Three Eyed Raven? Who will take down Dany? I'm SO nervous.⠀⠀

Q: Which author is featured the most on your shelves?
.
⚔️⚔️⚔️
.
"He saw it in her eyes. The anguish, the frustration ... It was there, inside. She had been broken. Then she smiled. Oh, storms. She smiled anyway.
.
It was the single most beautiful thing he'd seen in his entire life."

Yep. You guessed it. I own a lot of books by lots of authors, but the author with the most books on my shelf is Brandon Sanderson. Because he gives us beautifully complex worlds, beloved characters, epic action, and moments like the one above. ☺️
.
My collection has now outgrown a single shelf and has to be double stacked! I also feel like the Stormlight books should count as 3 books each. Because, let's face it, they basically are.

Q: Who are some of your favorite thief characters?
.
"Lift had never robbed a palace before. Seemed like a dangerous thing to try. Not because she might get caught, but because once you robbed a starving' palace, where did you go next?"
.

Lift from Brandon Sanderson's Stormlight Archive is absolutely hilarious. Every time she talks, she cracks me up. And her conversations with her spren Wyndle are absolutely hilarious!
.
Other favorite thieves?
.
Robin Hood.
Ky Huntyr from my series.
Bilbo ... though he's a Burglar and that's somewhat more distinguished.
And of course, I'll always have a soft spot for Aladdin.
.
How about you?
It's finally time...

Do you have a favourite fictional dragon?
I really like the dragons in Robin Hobb's books. They're such snobs and it's kind of hilarious!
The Song of Ice and Fire dragons are pretty great too, although they have a little less personality. That said, Drogon in that last episode... (no spoilers though).

I have never listened to anyone who criticized my taste in space travel, sideshows or gorillas. When this occurs, I pack up my dinosaurs and leave the room. — Ray Bradbury (Zen in the Art of Writing)

Science Fiction or Fantasy? Does there need to be a distinction between the two, or are we just splitting hairs? Let me know your thoughts!
Personally, I am more of a fantasy reader. I think that has to do with my early reading tastes - Harry Potter, The Hobbit, Lord of the Rings, etc - but I have been reading more classic science fiction the past few years. One of my favourite science fiction authors is Ray Bradbury. I taught Fahrenheit 451 to my Grade 12 class a few years ago and I really enjoyed it. Something Wicked This Way Comes was my newest foray into Science Fiction earlier this year and it also affirmed my love for Ray Bradbury’s style. No man can write short sentences like this one! He manages to create such dark, spooky worlds that are also potentially believable? I really want to explore more of his writing this year.
A more contemporary science fiction book that I have loved is Ready Player One. I read this in 2017 and still recommend it to people! I hope to read the Annihilation trilogy this summer.

Is anyone else in your family a booklover?
.
My husband is not a reader and where he likes crime tv shows, I prefer fantasy. Both my kids love to read though! And my husband might not be a bookworm, but he did put together my new bookshelves and they are coming along! So excited to have a place where I can be surrounded by things that make me happy.

Q: What was the last series finale that left you in tears?
.
Definitely the end to the Wingfeather Saga by @andrewpetersonmusic! It was so beautifully written and the culmination of the story came together in such a gloriously inevitable (once you could take a step back and see it) yet heartrending way. It's one of those ones that just sticks with you long after you close the book.
.
Also ... can we take a moment to just appreciate the titles?
✨On the Edge of the Dark Sea of Darkness
✨North or Be Eaten
✨Monster in the Hollows
✨The Warden and the Wolf King
.
Aren't they great? The titles alone are what first drew me to the books, and the story, of course, is what made me stay!
