Lions and tigers and wild kiddos, oh my! .⠀⠀ Last week, we got to explore the Fort Worth Zoo and see all of the animals God created with the kiddos from Ladera! The best part of the trip was when the kids spotted sugarcane and lit up with excitement, talking about how they used to eat it in their home country. . One of the goals of our Ladera mentorship program is to help refugee kiddos adjust to life in the United States while also celebrating with them their culture and where they came from. . Volunteer Spotlight - We are so excited to have Ms Corinne back teaching art class at Net Center this summer!⁠ .⁠ Every Tuesday and Wednesday, volunteer teachers give up their time to teach a variety of different classes for our friends experiencing homelessness. By attending these classes, our friends not only learn different skills, they also earn points on their Net card to be spent in the store on food, clothing, hygiene items, laundry, and more!⁠ .⁠⠀ The Net Center aims to restore dignity and worth to people experiencing homelessness by empowering and encouraging them as they take ownership in their own process!
