Slouching can lead to back pain, digestion issues, even breathing problems. Below are three tips to help you straighten up! - 1. After every hour sitting, you should take a 15 minute standing break. 2. Try Wall Angels at least once a day. Standing against a wall with your head straight, chin slightly tucked, and shoulders/elbows touching the wall. Slide back of hand up and down wall. Don’t let your hips or back stick out. 3. Lie on a foam roller, rolled up beach towel or yoga mat. Place between shoulder blades. Place arms in a “Touchdown” position. Have you taken notice to how your little is transitioning into standing? Well, here’s the facts. - - At about 8-10m your little will start pulling to stand on furniture. What you’ll see is that your baby relies heavily on their arms to pull to stand and is unable to move the legs separately(kinda rolls over feet to stand). - - Over the next month, your baby will develop adequate HIP STRENGTH in order to separate legs and stand one leg at a time (half kneel). - If your baby is unable to progress to half kneel ( above picture) then there may be a possible disturbance to their motor development. - Check my stories for WHY half kneel is AWESOME . I call this The Texas Tornado.... - You can start this skill around 4m and it’s meant to strengthen the shoulders and neck, which are both required for rolling. Simply facilitate the roll by using the hips ONLY.
