5-INGREDIENT VEGAN PROTEIN FERRERO ROCHER (Gf, oil-free) Who loves Ferrero Rochers?!
Okay, EMBARASSING STORYTIME: when I was young, I distinctly remember receiving my first ever box of them and being so in love with them at first taste that I I didn’t want my family to take any from me... so I ate the entire box of 16 on the way home on public transport, and vomited everywhere on the bus eek ...Yep, that’s how much I loved them #noregrets
Thus, I’m so so excited to be bringing you these as another creation in my series of “veganized popular confectionary” I whipped up these super quickly using the food processor function in my new @magimix and they are SO DANG DELICIOUS ✨
Here is the recipe ➡️
INGREDIENTS:
✅1 1/4 cup hazelnuts + 6 for centre
✅1/2 cup dates + 1/4 cup water
✅1 scoop vegan choc protein (I used @macr0mike Easter egg )
✅2 tablespoons cocoa powder
✅100g Vegan chocolate
METHOD:
1. Roast the hazelnuts for 10 minutes at 160 degrees Celsius until fragrant. Remove hazelnuts from the oven and allow them to cool slightly. Rub the hazelnuts to remove as much skin as possible. (*** ROASTING MAKES A HUGE DIFFERENCE to the flavour of these balls! Please do it! )
2. Reserve 6 hazelnuts for the centre. Add the rest of the hazelnuts into a food processor and process slightly until coarse crumbs form. Reserve 1/4 cup of the coarse crumbs for rolling at the end.
3. Add the cocoa powder, protein powder to the remaining hazelnut crumbs in the food processor and process until fine crumbs.
4. Add in the dates & water and process until the mixture forms a ball & sticks together.
5. Divide the ball mixture into 6 equal portions. Roll a hazelnut into the centre of each ball
6. Set in the freezer for at least 30 minutes
7. Melt the chocolate and roll the ball in the chocolate. Set aside to let the chocolate set.
**Storage: in an airtight container in the fridge for 2 weeks or in the freezer for months and thaw at room temp for 5 minutes before eating!
These are probably one of the best tasting treats I’ve ever made so excited for you guys to try this!! Happy weekend friends
