Planning a cross-country road trip in the U.S. or heading to Arkansas this summer? If so, we've got one stop that you must add to your itinerary! The Anthony Chapel at the @garvangardens is located in the city of Hot Springs, Arkansas (which is indeed named for its famous natural hot springs!) and makes for the perfect half day adventure if you're in the area. The chapel offers spectacular views of the surrounding woodlands while the gardens offer 210 acres of natural beauty including waterfalls, streams, and views of nearby Lake Hamilton. This giraffe was kind enough to let us pose with him. . We hiked on a 5000 acre farm where these animals live. We also saw impalas, guinea fouls, gazelles, and something I can only describe as a cross between a rabbit and a kangaroo.

we watched the documentary called “social_animals” last night...the film was about 3 different millennials and how profoundly instagram has affected their lives. i can honestly say i’m so grateful for this app...but even more grateful it wasn’t a “thing” when i was in high school or really even college—such a delicate/vulnerable age. my mind was absolutely blown by some of the things our young people today are experiencing due to this space. . . . social media can be such a blessing and a curse. i’m constantly outweighing the pros over the cons—and right now i’m praying that Rowen is so into catching trout, throwing rocks & climbing mountains as a teenager, that he won’t even give an app on a phone a second thought. . . . p.s. i also learned that i’ve been breaking an unspoken IG rule for years, apparently you’re never supposed to post more than 1 photo a day ‍♀️

it seems like just yesterday i was nursing this little bub to sleep, as the evening hatch started. . . . jon & i made ourselves a promise once we decided to start a family. we promised that we’d continue living an adventurous life, with our little dude in tow. our adventures now are shorter & much more careful but my goodness... they are soooo much sweeter! . . . in a couple of weeks, our rowen west turns 2 and i’m not even sure how we ever went on adventures without him. #rowenwest #hewasbornwild
