I feel really grateful for all the books I receive, but I have also been trying to be more conscientious of the books I receive to make sure some books get to the right person. I’m trying. When I do post about bookmail, please know that I am not trying to brag or show off. I do it to thank the publishers. A lot of the books I receive, I ask for. Some, I’m so grateful to have a partnership with. But, I will be better at getting certain books into the hands of the right people who may appreciate it more than myself. With that said, do you see a book you’re dying to read? I am really excited for THE FARM by Joanne Ramos which is @belletrist ’ selection for this month. It made this little Asian gal’s heart explode when they selected a book by an Asian author in May, which happens to be Asian Pacific Islander Heritage Month. So read a book by an Asian author y’all!

What’s your favorite movie? The prompt for #BookQueensMay19 is “On Wednesdays We Wear Pink: Pink Books,” which of course made me think of Mean Girls. While it’s not my favorite movie, I’ve seen it so many times, I can probably quote most of the lines. Boa Noite, gente! Como estão? Hoje vim conversar sobre Próximas Leituras. Eu faço o seguinte: quando estou no meio de um livro, já penso no próximo. Então quando termino um, já tenho o seguinte definido. Fora isso, não planejo antes porque deixo minha vontade do momento escolher, pois, se “forço” algo, a probabilidade de não curtir é maior. ⠀ Para escolher, dou prioridade para os que recebi recentemente. Caso não esteja com vontade de ler esses, passo para um que está encalhado na estante (estou tentando fazer mais isso esse ano, pois tenho vários acumulados ) – até porque quando comprei alguns estava empolgada para ler, mas deixei para depois e esse depois nunca chegava. Hahaha ⠀ Outras mudanças que fiz esse ano na minha Meta de Leituras foram: Tento incluir um Clássico e/ou Romance de Época por mês (deu certo até então), porque são meus gêneros favoritos. E fiz uma TBR anual de 12 Obras para 2019. E, respeitando o que comentei acima, espero o meu momento de leitura durante os 12 meses do ano. Já li 6! Estou feliz que estou mantendo minha meta. ⠀ Como comentei na foto anterior (vocês viram minhas leituras de Abril?), não costumo fazer TBR no mês. Porém, há situações especiais que mudam isso. Esse mês é meu aniversário e todo ano tento escolher uma obra que eu quero muito ler, uma que queira reler ou um escritor(a) que amo para ser um dia especial. E quando eu recebo livros eu QUERO MUITO ou estou ansiosa, coloco ele como prioridade nas leituras. Por conta disso, em maio tenho 3 títulos programados (os demais vou seguir com a minha vontade do momento): ⠀ ⠀ Emma - Jane Austen (Para Meu Aniversário) ⠀ A Abadia de Northanger - Jane Austen (Minha #PróximaLeitura, começo hoje! <3) ⠀ Piloto Playboy - Vi Keeland & Penelope Ward (Vi é uma das minhas autoras favoritas! <3) ⠀ E vocês, como escolhem qual livro ler? Thanks so much to @doubledaybooks for this beautiful copy of The Handmaid's Tale Graphic Novel. The Handmaid's Tale is one of my favorite books and I'm SO excited for the follow-up, The Testaments, coming in September. This is my first graphic novel and I'm so impressed with how beautiful the pictures are and how well it's able to capture the story. There is something so enchanting about Peonies. Their fragile layers and short but sweet blooming period, adds to their magic. . On Tuesday I went to my local indoor market and noticed that my favourite flower seller had three bunches left. Two of the bunches were coral in colour and one was this exquisite pale pink. I asked her how much the pink ones were. She picked them up and said “they are nearly over, but they will last a couple more days” She then started to wrap then and said “these are your Tuesday treat - you can have them for free” I was so incredibly touched it absolutely made my day. That’s the thing about shopping locally and supporting small business - the personal touch. . The pink book in this shot is Expectation by Anna Hope ~ I finished it last weekend and will be posting a review about it soon on my blog. . Have a wonderful Friday. cosy tuesday afternoon ✨ I’m about to add “Toffee” to my currently reading pile and I’m curious: if you could change your name, what would you change it to? I think I’d stick with an “A” name because I like the letter . ‘Toffee’ is about a girl called Alison who runs away from home and befriends a woman, Marla, who owns the shed Alison decides to live in. However, Marla has dementia and confuses Alison with someone called “Toffee”, so Alison has to pretend to be someone else. ✨ Having skimmed the first few chapters I can already tell how unique this book is. Its structure is so poetic and I’m looking forward to reading another book about mental health and memory ☁️ . Thank you @bloomsburypublishing @sarahcrossanwriter for sending it to me☺️
