Progress on the Zen-inspired Powder Room! There are a couple of things that have always given me inspiration in this career of mine: 1) the smell of sawdust and framing, and 2) the thrill of working alongside expert craftspeople who bring a depth of expertise, care, resourcefulness and wisdom to every single project. I’m forever learning, and that keeps it fresh! There is so much hidden in the walls of any project—most attention goes toward finishes and surfaces, but the reality is that no job is successful without the precision and craft performed by those tradespeople who are often invisible: our plumbers, electricians, heating folks, drywallers, carpenters and more. I’m forever appreciative of their sharing their gifts and skills in the projects I conceive: they bring ideas into reality. Townhouse custom kitchen remodel in South Eugene is complete! Walnut uppers above custom painted base cabinets, with quartz counters and large format backsplash tile. LVT flooring. We played with a mix of metal finishes in appliances, cabinet pulls and the metallic tile just above the countertop. . The second image is my Before: kitchen had functional issues and a shortage of storage. I'm excited about this new bath project, to be built in the New Year in Eugene's South Hills. Sink wall has really beautiful wall tile with two kinds of marble (Calacatta Gold and Thassos) and bronze accents. Shower has large format porcelain slabs on the walls. Niches in the shower have gold-backed glass tile. Floors are porcelain tile that looks just like Calacatta Gold marble. Plumbing fixtures and and lights have a brushed gold finish. Quartz counters have a 3" mitered edge. Cabinets will have an ultra high gloss finish. Doors and windows are detailed to be trim-less and minimalist. South facing etched glass windows will bathe this bathroom with beautiful daylight. Did I mention I can't wait .
