✨Giving potion answers to some of your potion questions!✨ . The most common question I receive about portions is: “What do you use?” Well, you can use anything, really! But, our standard “base” are the following three ingredients: shaving cream, liquid watercolor, and water. Sometimes we add dinosaurs. Sometimes we add big bowls. Sometimes we use 3 colors and sometimes we use 8. No matter the variations, our potions always have shaving cream, liquid watercolors, and water. The kids mix them up differently every day, but the same three ingredients are always provided. . Next most popular question: “How do you clean it?” Giiiiirl, WE don’t clean it. The kids clean it! The kids rinse allllll of the buckets and spoons and cups in soapy water and when they’re sparkling clean they’re back on the shelf for the next day. (Okay, well we do help after that part. The kids rinse and clean the materials, then WE hose off the tables and the ground. It takes minutes. Miss Michelle also takes allll of the bowls and such inside and runs them through the dishwasher about once a week.) . Next: “Can I just use food coloring?” Probably, BUT, that stuff stains everything. It can stain the table, the ground, clothes...and while you can easily ascertain that we aren’t overly concerned with stains, liquid watercolor rinses right off so everything looks fresh and brand new for the next day. We use @discountschoolsupply’s liquid watercolors (and we have for over 15 years. It’s. The. Best.). . Next: “What shaving cream do you use/does it smell?” We buy ours from the Dollar Tree and WalMart. Our potions are ALWAYS outside, so the smell isn’t very strong! . Potions are one of our favorite things in the world. Make Art with Rainbow Soybeans • Have you seen our previous post and DIY video tutorial on making rainbow soybeans for sensory play? Here’s one idea on how to play with them - let’s make an art piece using rainbow soybeans (instead of the usual water paint)! • I used cut toilet rolls and cardboard scraps to make a simple drawing containing a sun ☀️, a flower (yes I know it’s disproportionately huge ), and a car (T’s favorite). With the tub of rainbow soybeans we just made, and a few scoops, he got down to making his art piece by adding colors to the drawing. BLÜHENDE BLUMEN • Die Blumen werden einfach auf ein Küchenpapiertuch gezeichnet. Die Blüte mit wasserlöslichen Filzstiften den Stiel (wenn ihr habt) mit Wasserfesten. Dann braucht ihr eine Pipette oder eine kleine Sprühflasche. • Es ist so schön anzusehen wenn die Blumen aufgehen und die Farbe langsam verläuft.
