This you guys☕️. Anyone else doing the summer list in their heads daily? You know the one where you want to be productive and get 1,000 things done for school, or for your home, and then also want to slow down and make sure you make the most of this time and maybe read a book just for fun? Truth- I’ve always been a person that values productivity and thrives on a schedule but I’m trying with all my might to retrain my brain to SLOW DOWN and really be more present in the moment I’m in. Leave the lists to the side, for now, and enjoy where the day takes me. If that’s working on something I enjoy doing, perfect- and if I can’t get to those things because special moments with family or friends happen- that’s perfect too. Practical tip: make the list once a week and really make it MANAGEABLE! Not 1,000 things! Make it 2-3 and if they are accomplished- amazing! And if not, tomorrow will be a fine day for it too! I couldn’t end this day without sharing this special gift that I received from one of my students! This girl knows that I went to watch Endgame on opening night and that I love coffee so she made her mom drive all over trying to find this super awesome mug for me! The stones in the gauntlet appear when it is filled with hot liquid! I know that these are just simple words. And words without action is basically meaningless- but you guys, we need these words to remind ourselves of our strength. To remind ourselves of what’s important and where we want to go. So yes, these are just words- but these words inspire me to make a plan. A plan to figure out what’s my go to when fear or worry creep in. For me- as soon as I recognize those feelings, I do a few things. 1. Get outside. The sun and nature are rejuvenating to my soul. 2. Grab my devotional and dig into scripture. 3. Blast @lauren_daigle . 4. Remind myself of what is true and put no worth into those worries. Hey y’all! Little Friday morning chat ☕️! It’s so easy to get caught up in having some part of our value and self worth come from the praise of others... which trust me- we all do. But what happens when that praise or value stops- does that mean we are less valuable or less worthy? Sweet friends, the answer is NO. A resounding, echoing NO! Our value and worth comes from our maker and one of the most important relationships we can truly invest in is the one with him, and then ourselves. It’s so important to know how worthy you are. How you were made with true purpose- beautiful true purpose. Take some time this weekend and remind yourself of how far you’ve come on this journey. How strong you are, and remember that your value doesn’t come from the people who surround you, (praise and support are so beautiful and wonderful, but it doesn’t define you) it starts within.
