THORACIC MOBILITY ⠀ ⠀ Whether you’re dealing with mid-back pain or are having difficulty performing your daily activities or workouts because of thoracic stiffness, you may benefit from thoracic mobility drills. Here are four great ones to try!⠀ ⠀ ➡️ Foam Roller Extension Mobilizations⠀ The GOAT for improving thoracic extension. Simply place a foam roller under your thoracic spine and work on extending over it. ⠀ ⠀ ➡️ Sidelying Flexion/Rotation⠀ This is a good drill to work on improving both thoracic extension and rotation while minimizing motion at the lumbar spine. ⠀ ⠀ ➡️ Thread the Needle⠀ Pure thoracic rotation here. These feel great! Kneel on all-fours and make sure you perform these on both sides. ⠀ ⠀ ➡️ Half Wall Hang⠀ An often underutilized drill, especially for those who need a good overhead position. When it comes to lower back I like to work on strengthening posture like Bhujangasana (Cobra) or Shalabhasnaa (Locust) ~ but for the thoracic spine I like supported bends. Suits my body and lifestyle which involves a lot of desk work. . I even do milder versions of these during the day with a small bolster or rolled blanket. A supported bridge pose in the end helps release any pressure from the lower back as well. . Now do tell me what are your favourite ways to reset your back?
