Penguin Deluxe Classics are really great editions of classics, though I haven’t added a new book to my collection in a long time. Which is your favourite cover? * A little update on my #owlsreadathon2019 challenge, I’m doing quite well! I finished 3 books and currently reading my 4th (A Room with a View). I have 3 more books to go and a couple of them are very short so hoping I get a lot of reading done this long weekend. I’m also aiming to read most of them before Avengers: Endgame is out because I know that’s all I’m gonna be thinking about though lowkey that’s literally what’s been consuming my free time right now lmfao. The Master and Margarita by Mikhail Bulgakov. I read this book as it was recommended to me by @that.little.drop.of.poison and it was quite the adventure! I really enjoyed the portrayal of Soviet Russia and the devil and his companions wreaking havok, i enjoyed the love story (though sparse) and I did find the writing witty and fun. What I didn't enjoy was the incredibly overlong subplot chapters about Pontius Pilate (though I did like end of this strand of the tale) and I did find a fair few of the names quite confusing! So in ghe end although the book was good I felt i didn't enjoy it for big chunks at a time. Overall I would recommend it as a fun, twisted and funny read, but I wouldn't say you're missing out too much by not reading it either - though translation may be critical as apparently some are much better than others! 4.... Il Maestro e Margherita è uno dei miei libri preferiti, l'ho letto una sola volta e, nonostante sia molto tentata, temo di rileggerlo per non guastarne il bellissimo ricordo! In compenso mi sono goduta questa graphic novel, letta in un pomeriggio, che mi ha catapultata nel folle mondo nato dalla penna di Bulgakov, pagine e pagine di disegni capaci di ricreare le bellissime atmosfere del romanzo, certo in un libricino così breve è difficile rendere onore alla maestosa e sopraffina arguzia dell'intera opera ma per chi l'ha già letta diventa piacevole ripercorrere la storia e ricordare le meraviglie celate. ❤
